I'll be curious to know how it looks. I love the series, but the source material was only in standard definition, wasn't it?

No. It was shot on Film and Transferred to HD umatic. These hold a 2K elements.

These are in no way like any of the DVD sets Or the Atrocious US release Of I dream Of Jeannie.

Though, if the show was shot on 35mm and finished on videotape, these tapes would only be standard definition. So, I guess I'm wondering if the tapes were used as the source for the blu, or if the episodes were rebuilt from original elements (as was done for Star Trek the Next Generation) and the discs are in true HD.

But I guess this is a conversation best suited for the dedicated Storyteller thread, just as soon as someone starts one! ----Edited to add, I just now started that thread----

The technology for a series shot on film to be then transferred and edited and delivered to network on tape did not exist at the time “Bewitched” was in production. All episodes of "Bewitched" were shot on 35mm film, with editing and post-production also being done on film. A 35mm broadcast reel was then created from the master negative and sent to ABC for broadcast.

Back in the 1960s, video editing on tape was clunky and lacked precision. As a result, most primetime shows were delivered to networks on film. Shows that were made on tape at this time ( daytime soaps or quiz shows etc) often aimed for a "live" recording style to minimise the need for extensive editing.

Improvements in technology meant from the mid-1980s, it became increasingly popular to transfer 35mm film footage to tape for editing and delivery to networks. It became more cost-effective to do this with series like "Fame" and "Falcon Crest" transitioned to this post production and delivery method partway through their run. As you mentioned, this practice has implications for later HD releases, as it would necessitate re-editing the shows from scratch using the original film elements as the tape masters would be in SD.

Fortunately, the vast majority of 1960s primetime drama and comedy series, including "Bewitched," "Bonanza," "I Dream of Jeannie," and "Gidget," etc have 35mm negatives of their original edited shows available so they can be scanned at high resolution.

No doubt will feature the stock same titles again for Season 5 from Seasons 3 and 4 plus the incorrect Season 6 ones with the voiceover on the Elizabeth Montgomery stars in part instead of being silent...for the price of these the incorrect opening titles on 3 and 4 were a huge disappointment

I would imagine that's the case. Imprint hasn't released a trailer for this box set. I wonder if that's due to all the comments on the trailer for seasons 3 and 4, which asked about the music that was used in it (the generic season 1 theme).

There are other US stores selling this (Diabolikdvd, GrindhouseVideo, DeepDiscount, Walmart, etc.) Is there a reason why are you highlighting those two companies over others in the US? and this might be on sale at JB hi-fi in the future. Just curious.
