I just found this show and am almost finished the 1st episode. I like it so far. Many actors I really dig are in this. Bruce Greenwood (Nowhere Man), Luis Guzman (Out of Sight, Magnolia) Willie Garson (White Collar), Garrett Dillahunt (4400, Terminator Sarah Connor Chronicles, Deadwood), Rebecca DeMornay (my dreams, Hand that Rocks the Cradle, Risky Business), and others.
The dude who plays John cracks me up in this. Funny dude. NOTE: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE use spoiler tags in this as I'm just watching this for the first time and do not want anything spoiled, especially as it pertains to the character of John, as I've heard that's a big mystery or something. ![]() |

Even until the final episode, there is barely anything to spoil.....
Without spoiling, you only find out a few things about John. One episode of this show was absolutely incredible. I think it was Episode/Day 2 or 3. I loved this show and saw every episode as it premiered. Some episodes were amazing, others were just really good. Some episode just felt like filler episodes. I was editor for the show on TV.com, hoping this show would be big... but unfortunately it was cancelled due to bad ratings. Last edited by The_Basterd; 06-11-2010 at 03:12 PM. |

I watched a couple episodes of this show and quickly lost interest. The fact that HBO canceled the show after one season says a lot about the quality. HBO hardly ever cancels shows after one season. To do so it has to have bad ratings and be hated by critics. Any critical praise and they'll keep the show.
HBO hit a real cold streak in 2005-2007 when the Sopranos was ending, putting on horrible new shows like John From Cincinnati, Lucky Louie, and Tell Me You Love Me. Tell Me You Love Me was the only one of those shows that got renewed, but they then canceled it before it's second season because they didn't see a good way to keep it going. Big Love was the only show to get multiple seasons from shows that premiered from 2005-2007. This was a period where Showtime thrived, premiering Dexter, Weeds, The Tudors and Californication. |

I really like Louis C.K., and the show had a decent number of fans, but I thought the show was horrible. He's a great comic but I don't think he has the appeal to be a leading actor. I really liked him in supporting roles in Parks and Recreation and Role Models. We'll see how his new show, Louie, does later this month.

I watched this show every episode when it originally aired, and when it was done I asked myself "WTF was that?" They revealed almost nothing about John in that first season and it just created more questions than answers. It was like Big Love for me, another show that I watch and have no reason as to why. I didn't love it, nor hate it, I just watched it and didn't understand it, lol.
