I have two Logitech Force Feedback wheels, the Driving Force and Force GT models. Both wheels normally work great with PS3, and I use them with GT5:Prologue all the time. However, I cannot get either of them to work with F1: Championship Edition. When they're connected, the auto calibrate to center, but that's it. In F1:CE I cannot navigate menus or control the car in game. I've used my regular controller to get through the menus, then switch to the wheel, but that won't work either.I connect these directly to the PS3's USB ports, with nothing else attached, and it's just not working.
Has anyone used either the Logitech Driving Force or Force GT wheels with F1:CE? Please let me know if you've gotten it to work, and if there's something I'm doing wrong. These wheels have been trouble free since my PS2 days, but I can't get them to work with F1. Thanks |

I have the driving force gt:

The Logitech Driving Force Pro works fine for me with F1. It's really surprising your Driving Force GT isn't working since that's one of the newer wheels. Do you have the wheel connected when you turn on the PS3 or do you connect them after it is on? Maybe changing that one way or the other will help but that's a shot in the dark.

I've tried connecting the wheels both before and after the game has been loaded, with the PS3 on and off. In either instance, the wheels calibrate towards center, but they do not work at all in the game.
On Wikipedia, the F1:CE listing mentions a game update allowing force feedback wheels to work after release. I don't know if that's true or not, because I have not been unable to find an update file on the web pages for playstation or SCE Liverpool (Europe). For those of you who have the game working with your wheels, would you please check to see if you have a PS3 system game update file for it? If it's small enough, maybe one of you could e-mail it to me? Or, if one of you knows where to find the update file online, please let me know. Also, is this game still playable online? I tried connecting last night, and I kept getting a server connection error. Thanks! |

I remember the game updating itself about a week ago when I first played the game (I've had the game since launch though lol).
I don't know if I can email an update file, it should do itself automatically. One possible reason that yours isn't updating is because they haven't released an update for europe yet. I remember something like that with Ferrari Challenge a few months ago. You could try and make a US PSN id to try and get the update, but I think you might need an American credit card. I think it is worth a try. |

I'll give it another try tonight. I've never encountered anything like this before with a racing wheel. |

I just found out last night on Playstation.com that F1: Championship Edition had its online multiplayer disconnected back in June. If you had to go online to trigger any sort of update file, it's not happening anymore.
Any other suggestions on getting the wheel to work? Does it matter which USB port the wheel is plugged into? It shouldn't matter. |

The wheels should work on any USB port.
Mine does appear to have an update and I just installed F1 on my slim PS3 on August 6th, 2009. The version is 1.10 and it's 33 meg. I don't normally even check the multiplayer options so I'm pretty sure mine updated just because my PS3 is online/signed-in and I tried to play the game. Maybe you should delete the game save file and game data file and try running the game again with your PS3 online/signed-in to see if it'll update. |

Does anyone here have a copy of F1:CE and either a Logitech Force GT or Driving Force wheel? If you could verify they work together for me I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks again! |

Okay, last night I deleted the F1 game install and then had it reinstall. Still, no getting the wheels to work. They acted the same - reset to surrender, but then didn't function at all in the game.
I don't know what else to do. Not having Logitech wheel support or online play is a huge drag. |
