Y'know, twelve posts later, I just know this's going to turn out to be some Boba Fett thing, where the one character fans are orgasmically geeking over knowing the name of from early Net-rumors, turns out to show up for just some one-scene five minute bit part?

Chill, dude: A Pixar's always about the story, they just happen to have characters...

The only other new character I know of is a Ken doll being played by Michael Keaton according to the IMDB page the last time I looked at it.

Joe Ranft passed away, he voiced Lenny the Bionculars on Toy Story 1 and Wheezy the Penguin in Toy Story 2. The pig was voiced by John Ratzenberger who played the mailman on Cheers. Jim Varney of Ernest fame also passed away, he voiced Slinky Dog, his voice will be relaced by a friend of his. RIP both Joe Ranft and Jim Varney.

Not to mention, Hamm and Mack were played by "Cheers"'s John Ratzenberger, who is, at last IMDb report, alive, well, and continuing to appear in Pixar films (eg. the Construction chief in "Up").
As already noted, Hamm will not be recast in TS3.

I think he's the only person to be in every Pixar feature film

The late Joe Ranft was also in all of them until he did died in 2005, Cars is dedicated to him. I'm sure Cars 2 will be dedicated to the late Paul Newman AND George Carlin That's 3 "Cars" voices that have passed away. By the way, what the heck are "Production Babies"?, they are listed in the end credits of the Pixar films.

I didn't realize George Carlin was in Cars.

Production babies are babies born to staff members of the film while the film was being made.
