Default My First Home Theatre!! - Apartment Setup

Hey guys,
After enjoying viewing many of your home theater setups, I can finally post mine. I have recently gotten a new job and moved into my own apartment. Obviously, being in an apartment reduces what I can do with my setup, but Im hoping some of you will give me some tips on how to improve it.

Yes, I will be replacing the boxes the surrounds are currently sitting on!!
Speaker management is another issue Ill be improving in the near future

Gear:
Toshiba 37HL95 - TV
Pioneer VSX-1018AH - Receiver
40 gig PS3 - Blu-ray
Energy C500s - Fronts
Energy CC100 - Center
Energy C100 - Surrounds
Klipsch Sub-12 - Subwoofer

To be upgraded by the end of the year:
50-60" Plasma - Boxing Day
TV Stand - w/ TV
Surround Sound stands - ASAP
Coffee Table - ASAP
Ikea Dioders - ASAP

I really like those Energy's. My next set of speakers are going to be Energy's, or if I have the $$$$ Paradigms. Anyway, I love the clean look r your room. You ahve great equipment too. I do have 2 suggestions......move your fronts out further from the TV to widen your front soundstage and provide a wider audio field for others in your room. My second suggestion, get some kind of rug between your TV and your couch to help with reflections. It wouldn't be a bad idea either to isolate the sub from the hardwood floor with an Auralex SubDude or to build some kind of your own sub-riser. Don't ge me wrong, I love what you got, but I also think you could benefit that much more from my suggestions.......regardless, that is a very nice room.

I have a leather automan (similar to a coffee table) that I will be placing in the space between the TV and couch.
I will try your suggestion of separating the fronts a little more. I know they should be 6'-9' apart, but I thought it looked better this way.
That Subwoofer riser also looks like a good idea. Since I am in Canada though, I will have to try to find one in a store, since Amazon.com wont ship it to Canada and on ebay I would be paying $100 for one.
Hopefully I can also find some pictures to put up on the walls. I just moved in a week ago, so that is why it looks so barren!

Thanks for the tips!

I think what fors means is that a rug will redu e reflections off you hardwood floors.

Very nice setup.

Check my gallery, it is the second one....I have a pictorial of how I built my own own sub riser for easily under $50......you got to do it, it is sooooo easy. Here is Big Daddy's sticky on the how to's for sub-risers.....

Default updated my Apartment HT

Hey guys,
I have made several changes to my HT setup!!
Most notably, I have upgraded my TV from a 37" 720p LCD to the Pioneer Kuro Elite PRO 101-FD
I got a new TV stand to support the new TV and got a larger and more comfortable couch!
I also took some of your suggestions... I have further separated the front speakers and added a rug in-front of the TV to reduce the glare!
I still plan on adding a a subwoofer riser at some point.
Let me know what you guys think! You can compare my two setup to see the improvement by switching between my two galleries!

Awesome Home Theater.
That Pioneer Kuro Elite is one of the Finest TV's on the Market .

And add in the Beautiful looking Energy Speakers and it looks even better.I can imagine sitting back and watching a Blu Ray or even a NFL Game on your Set Up,and Having a Smile on my Face,From Ear to Ear.

Outstanding System!!!

Excellent improvement! Nice to see you gave those Energy Fronts some breathing space. I'm sure it all sounds much better now!

Nice upgrades! The fronts do look a lot better, and with a riser, i think you would hear some better low frequency response with it being seperated from the hardwood floor. I think you need to put some nice things on the white wall behind the TV.....it looks bare in the pics....

How does that center channel hold up against the towers? Does it feel over powered by the towers?

The center channel and two towers go together as part of the 'C-500 5.1 Home Theater System'
http://www.energy-speakers.com/na-en...-5-1-overview/

I cheaped out and got bookshelf for the surrounds, and got the Klipsch sub for a good price.

I usually have a hard time hearing dialoge so the center is set slightly lounder than the towers, but nothing ridiculous.
