I find that mics are helpful if you play with people you know (i.e. you guys), but near useless if you play with randoms because everyone wants to do their own thing.

I'm on the east coast, but I can play with west coasters because I'm usually up till 2am ET (11pm PT).

If you dont have mics you need some asap! Its so different playing with team mates that communicate and play together.

I've got the Official Sony Headset and cannot think of a headset thats better to replace it.
