Has anyone ever traded their used games in on Amazon.com?
Thinking about doing this. The trade in price is pretty decent compared to Gamestop. Just wondering how it was? |

I've done it three or four times. Works well for me. I found that the prices are pretty close to a trade in a Gamestop, but the thing that makes it better is that Amazon has no tax or shipping, plus their games are always less than retail anyways so you always end up getting more by trading in at Amazon.

i would maybe try to trade here first, you can usually find someone looking for the game you want to unload and they will usually be agreeable to a 1 for 1 trade from something of theirs, which gives you a little more value than what amazon or gamestop pays, ive never traded in at amazon, but if i traded anywhere, that would be the place to do it

I've done it a few times with both games and movies, and had great results each time.
Don't forget that Amazon also offers game trading bonuses. I think currently if you trade in $60 or more worth of games, you get an extra $30 or something like that. Plus, no tax/shipping with Amazon (as Mac said), and the fact that you can get 10% off games on Amazon with a free ECA membership, AND the fact that Amazon tends to offer $10 gift cards on many pre-orders. |

I have also traded in games, as well as dvd's, with Amazon. No problems, and the shipping is free.

I'm thinking of doing this for Arkham Asylum, I called my Gamestop and they offered me like a little over $20, Amazon has it for I believe $34, much better.
I would ideally like to find someone around my town that would want to give me $40 (since its $50 used at our Gamestop) but I've had no luck and will probably ship that sucker off to Amazon. |

I've traded in games to Amazon about 4 or 5 times now with great results. I especially like that the gift card credit can be used on anything they sell, not just games (except the extra $30 promotion). It takes about a week or two from the time I drop the box off at a UPS to get my credit. Also, Amazon has a different trade-in deal for a different game every day. I've used it twice to get $5-$10 extra. One thing I noticed though is that it may be beneficial to wait a little longer to sell a newly released game. I got Batman Arkham Asylum for the PS3, beat it within two weeks of release and sold it to Amazon for $37.50 which is higher than Gamestop would ever give. I thought I was getting a great deal (and it really is a good value), but I noticed about two weeks after I sold it the trade-in value went up to $41.50.
