Default David Letterman

Just heard David Letterman tried to be extorted by a girl he fooled around with at work.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33131361...t-celebrities/

W/E Leno was better.

I'm surprised he didn't try to blame this on Leno.....

But seriously, he cheated during a short marriage. Are we supposed to feel sorry for him?

Is this really something to talk and/or care about? The simple answer is "No"

Default Letterman Should Be Interesting Tonight-Set Your DVRs!

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091002/...rman_extortion

"David Letterman acknowledged on Thursday's show that he had sexual relationships with female employees and that someone tried to extort $2 million from him over the affairs, and CBS says an employee has been charged with attempted grand larceny in the case."

You couldn't be more wrong.

He was extorted by someone else (a producer from 48 Hours) regarding Letterman's sex with female staffers.

He's not asking anyone to feel sorry for him. He does, however, feel sorry for the women and his family.

No one knows when he had the affairs. You say he had a "short marriage," but he's been with his girlfriend/wife for 23 years.

I love Letterman (especially compared to that worm Leno), but cheaters are among the worst. Not as bad as rapers, kidnappers, and murderers, but pretty bad.

I like that he came out and just admitted it instead of being taken advantage of. I don't think his divorce will be any fun though.

Ironically, his wife was a former staffer, too...

He did more than mention it. He had a full discussion about it after a short monologue.

The way the story actually broke was because he talked about it on his show, taking the offensive and making it public himself before the media could.

I would definitely recommend trying to find the full video of his on-air disclosure. I have never seen anything quite like it.

Well yeah, he broke the story shortly before it would've broken anyway. The guy got arrested yesterday, and Letterman had to go testify in front of a grand jury. So the story was going to come out yesterday regardless of whether Letterman talked about it on his show.

it's kinda pathetic when people expect tv personalities to be role models.
