Default Official Philharmonic Audio Speakers Thread

Philharmonic Audio was founded by Dennis Murphy, a DIY designer and the crossover/speaker designer for Salk Sound. Dennis' work has become world renowned and his selection of drivers/components in combination with the cabinet design makes the Philharmonic Speaker line very hard to resist. Dennis is currently offering three floor-standing models and one monitor-style model, all with an open-back midrange cabinet design except the monitor speaker. A matching center channel available as well, though it is not on the website yet. The models are as follows:

Dennis has only offered these speakers for a short time, but they've already been welcome to the audio market with open arms and already have a handful of great reviews, including a mention of them on Stereophile's website by John Atkinson.

I will have the pleasure of hearing these speakers in a couple weeks, first in my home for a week, then at our Wisconsin Audio Club GTG on April 14th. Needless to say I cannot wait! '

I wish Dennis Murphy great success in this new venture. If you're a music lover and appreciate extreme value and performance, these speakers are going to be hard to beat!

If/When we get a new place it's either the Phil 2's or if I have enough for it - the Salk SS8's that I will be buying for a 2ch setup. Just from my experience with the SongTowers and Dennis Murphy's reputation I have enough confidence in his work to buy either of these speakers blind.

The prices these sell for really are crazy! Possibly the best bang for you buck out there..

I know of one member on this forum that has a pair of Phils coming. Not sure if he's still around here but I've read his posts on the AVS forum and I think he should be getting them real soon. He's coming from Focal Electras.. lucky guy

I agree; you really do get a lot for your money. I've been pondering buying a pair myself, but I think my wife would shoot me.
