Does the Dolby TrueHD track on the US version of Snakes on a Plane play properly? - Blu-ray Forum

I was wondering if any of you have the American Blu-ray version of Snakes on a Plane yet?

There are reports on another forum that the UK version from EIV lists Dolby TrueHD as an option on the menu and back cover of the Blu-ray but that when the movie is played the audio is actualy Dolby Digital 5.1 only!

The thing is, up to now it's generally been assumed that all New Line titles released on Blu-ray on the EIV label in the UK were simply exact copies of the same New Line/Warner title released in America.

So can you please check your US versions of Snakes on a Plane and tell me what audio and subtitle options are present and whether the Dolby TrueHD on the disc really is Dolby True HD and not Dolby Digital.

It wouldn't be the first time that a reviewer wasn't as thorough as they should be!

Anyways, the person with the UK version has now posted screenshots and yes, the Blu-ray menu says Dolby True HD 5.1 only, but his amp says the disc is outputting Dolby Digital 5.1!

Perhaps the US version has the same problem?

I think it's more likely EIV has screwed up yet again

Anyone get this? I didn't want to start a new tread. How is the BD quality and also do we have a confirmed answer on the thread topic question?

EIV is replacing defective copies of the UK Blu-ray Disc.
