Default Top 8 Games That Should Go Hollywood

Top 8 Games That Should Go Hollywood
Source

Quote:
We're kicking this week off with another edition of our daily Top 8. Today, we're covering the Top 8 Games that deserve to go to Hollywood. While the list includes obvious favorites, Killzone 2, I'm hoping a couple of others are surprises to say the least. We'd love to hear what your favorite games you'd like to see turn into movies, but for now, we'll settle knowing just our own.

The list is included below.

1.Killzone 2:
We wanted to start our list off with the most obvious PlayStation 3 title deserves of the Hollywood treatment. Without a doubt, the story behind Killzone 2 would not only make for a great mindless summer blockbuster, but the setting and shear brute of the title is something that is sure to rake in millions. People love a great invasion story, but it's not too often you see Earth invading another planet determined to fight back. We're pretty sure that the guys casted for this movie would be some no-name beefcakes, but it's expected. We're just hoping they don't line up Gerard Butler for this one - we all saw how "Gamer" turned out.

2.Valkyria Chronicles:
This is without a doubt my favorite Sony exclusive of this generation. Though Final Fantasy fanboys may not like it, I also feel this is without a doubt, the greatest RPG experience I've ever had. Regardless of the fanboy love I have for this title, I think the actual story behind it is one worth telling in a live action environment. Roleplaying Games are, after all, often portrayed with the same dull 'boy saves girl' storyline, so it was a breath of fresh air to get a break away from that stereotype. I'm unsure of who would play Alicia, but it would definitely need to be someone who can act. A trout like Megan Fox just isn't going to cut it. While Alicia should look good, she needs to be able to act too...
You'll have to go to the site to read the rest.

Honestly the only games from the list I'd like to see movies of are Bioshock, Resistance, and maybe Heavenly Sword. I'm surprised they don't mention Uncharted as that would be an awesome movie! Also Mirror's Edge would be kind of cool...

If the list was mutliplatform I'd love to see anything from Blizzard make it's way into movie form. Warcraft, Starcraft, and Diablo.

Aye For Killzone 2, Valkyria Chronicles, Heavenly Sword, Heavy Rain, Resistance, and BioShock. However, I don't know about Ratchet & Clank and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance.....

Killzone 2? While the game is gorgeous the storyline is piss poor and the main reason I'm not a big fan of it. Terrible cliche characters and an uninspiring enemy.

I can't load the article up but BioShock is one of my favorite things ever and if they can get a compitent director and a team of writers to do it justice it could be pretty outstanding on the big screen. I just hope when/if they do it they won't bastardize it to the point it brings down the memory of the game.

Bioshock is obvious, buy why not Drake's Fortune. It's linear enough to be an easy screenplay, and the genre has proven to be popular. Dead Space as well, but scifi/horrors don't draw crowds like the Indy Jones type movies.

American McGee's Alice is the one I've always wanted to see make it onto the big screen and the one I've always known will never reach that point.

I hate that McGee's Oz game never happened (although it's technically not canceled, just on hold indefinitely). I guess he decided to turn it into a movie instead, to generate interest in the game, but I don't know if that's ever really going to happen either.

For sure Bioshock would be excellent if they did what jsteinhauer mentioned...I'd like to see a Metal Gear Solid hit the big screen...I wouldn't mind LittleBigPlanet for the kiddies...Maybe F.E.A.R.

When they announced Burton was going to do a remake a long time ago I thought it would be based on that game more than the book.

Uncharted 1 and 2...
Folklore (although a weak fan base it would be cool)
Resistance 1 and 2 could be combined into 1 movie
Haze, since the concept was coool but the game blew chunks
Aquanauts Holiday would be a cool mystery movie
CoD WAW and MW could be the next saving privet ryan
Burnout could be like Fast and Furious
Infamous vs Prototype like a Batman vs Superman vs Predator Movie...
Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 would have pretty lights for an espionage movie
GTA 4 could be its own trilogy

I think MGS will be great movie, if Hideo Kojima dircted.
The Stroy is huge and characters are interesting ( except Raiden in Sons of Liberty ).

MGS -> MGS:Sons of liberty -> MGS:Sneak Eater -> MGS: Guns of Patriot

Sneak eater is not about solid snake but it tell MGS history.
I hope one day Hollywood make this great game.

For those saying why not Uncharted....its because this list is of games that should be made into movies and there have been no plans to do so.

Uncharted IS being made into a movie.

I'd love to see fallout3 tuned into a movie. i can picture it perfectly. the characters, the location, the music, in fact, i think i should direct it.

Sigh, why didn't i follow my dream to become a director

Kojima is The Man, but a Metal Gear Solid movie directed by him would turn into a monologue-fest. nothankyou.jpg.

Hell yeah to Dead Space and Resistance.. I agree that Resistance could be a dark movie if done right´, and the story from the first game is great!
