Maybe it's not on all of the sony titles(although I thought I read that it was). I've only tried it with 3 titles.

Perhaps we could have people post what titles they have gotten it to work with, and perhaps what firmware they were running?

Sounds like you're not pressing the triangle button first, or you're not on the main menu screen.

Here's the procedure: Hit the Triangle button when you are at the main menu of a Sony Blu-ray disc. You'll see several disk options along with numbers. Using the Sixaxis controller or bluetooth remote to enter 7-6-6-9 in the popup black box.

I know it works for Ricky Bobby and Stranger Than Fiction. I haven't tried any other Sony disc.

Are you typing the numbers when on the menu of a Sony BD?

I just did it with Flatliners (released last week) and it worked too.

Just tried it on 'Premonition', and had no problems with the calibration. Are you just supposed to let it do it's thing, or are you supposed to press buttons and stuff during the calibration? My TV showed 4 different screens during the calibration then went back to the main menu of the movie.

calgarymarc, they're just calibration test patterns, they don't do anything, you adjust your display/settings while looking at them if you know what to do. There's a couple of threads/posts about that somewhere in the forum.

When you buy that huge new High Def tv and take it out the box, the picture may look awesome to you.
It actually is not.
There is a video standard for color, Hue, saturation, Brightness, and contrast.
I am not sure what test patterns are on the disk's yall are talking about but they are certainly test patterns to set the tv up to industry standard specification. This is called Calibrating the tv.

There are a few different dvd's you can buy to calibrate your tv. They will explain and show you how to do it. They will also come with some filters you need to look through while doing some settings.

Do a search for "video or TV calibration", do some reading, buy a calibration disk and do it. Once calibrated you will see as accurate a picture as possible for your set.

Now let me go see what this stuff is on these BD's yall talking about.

Thx Deci,

I'd rather not mess with the TV settings as we have already had our display professionally calibrated. LOL just wanted to see what all this talk was about.
