Default Sony KDL-52V5100

So, I have had my new Sony for about 2 weeks. I have noticed that while all my HD channels and anything on blu looks amazing, SD channels look horrible! Has anyone else had this same experience? Is there something specific I can adjust to fix this? Should I just get a different model? Thanks for the feedback.

SD will never look as good as HD, but if you really want to you could move up to the Z or XBR9 series Sony as they use the Bravia Engine 3 which will do a better job with SD processing... just dont expect to be impressed by SD, even on the Z or XBR9

SD channels are going to look like crapy on most t.v.s that's why the xbr's are and z series are a little bit better but don't feel bad SD channels look bad on most t.v.s like I said.

Honestly.....SD channels looked much better on my old rear projection SXRD that I just replaced.

Any other suggestions other than getting a Z series or spending way to much on the XBR9? I am typically a Sony guy, but maybe it is time for a change?

I have the KDL-52V5100. Many of the digital SD channels that I receive from NPG Cable TV look about as good as my DVDs upconverted to 1080p for most of the 200 or so channels that I get. After they switched to digital, it made a big difference over the old analog that we used to get. Some SD channels, like the Weather Channel, look crappy though. It just depends on the channel. IFC, History International, Science Channel, National Geographic, Military Channel, just to name a few look great even though they're SD. However I also get the History Channel in HD. Wow, it really blows away the SD History channel. Same for SyFy channel, the SD channel is one of the crappy ones, I mean real crappy. But SyFy HD PQ looks superb.
