Miracle on 34st old one question - Blu-ray Forum

hey all,

does it say anywhere that the original Miracle on 34th street Blu-ray also has it in Black and White?

normally I don't care, but there are a small handful of movies that I prefer in their original look. Plus I hate colorized film most of the time, they look fake. I really love this movie but I only want it on Blu-ray if it in Black and White. Might have to keep my DVD for a long time I'm guessing.

any specs or back of box that says it is in both?

It's in B&W, I saw it yesterday at Target.

THERE IS NO COLORIZED VERSION ON THE BLU-RAY RELEASE,YIPPEE!

The cover art looks like it's taken from the colorized version, but I'm glad to hear it's in original B&W.

And yes, colorized films always had a weird fakey look. It was always a bad idea.

I think heads are gonna roll somewhere in the marketing department. The box even says it's colorized and all pics on the boxes front and back are in color. However, the movie is only in b&w. They should have included both versions.

The movie itself is in b&w, but the menus and such are in color. Nice crisp picture quality.

So does this mean colorization is dead? I surely hope so. You couldn't get me to watch a colorized movie if you tried.

The coverart is all screwed up. It states a new colorized version for bluray right on the back paragraph and all the photos are in color duplicating the 2006 S.E. dvd that contained both versions. The Canadian coverart claims it is a 1985 colorized version in the specs. Fox is apparently fixing the coverart to state B&W and in my opinion should remove all of the color stills like on the 199 dvd being monochromatic cover art.

The colorization was done by Legend films in 2006 and it is not the Turner colorized version from the 80's. Personally I think they should have included both versions as a novelty like on the 2006 dvd and as they will with the upcoming It's a Wonderful Life bluray. Legend did that colorization as well along with the Harryhausen blurays released a while back.
