Default Amazon CA International Shipping

Hi all

I know that usually if you select cheapest International shipping normally it gets sent via DHL. Is this still the case? My Parasite order has a 6-8 week delivery window for cheapest shipping option.

I think it depends on your location. I live in Canada and when I order from Amazon.ca, it gets delivered rather very quickly (2-3 days) with Intelcom.

But now, with the COVID-19, all deliveries takes much longer than usual. So choosing the highest or the cheapest shipping option would take time anyway. Personally, I always choose the cheapest cost. I really hate having to pay for shipping!!!

I'm in UK that's why it ssys international in title
Reason I asking is like I mentioned usually in cheapest option they used to use DHL but currently a order states 8 weeks for delivery which can't be with DHL. Does anyone who in last 2 months shopped with them international if they still used DHL to ship cheapest option or have they changed it?

That shipping time might just be because of the current situation. Before this I would order from Amazon.co.uk and have my package within a week! But now its likely to take several weeks.

Its also priority shipping, your order may not actually be shipped out for a while because they will take care of any "essentail" deliveries first and our blurays will sit for a while.

What's going on? I've ordered several titles including the Columbia Classic 4k UHD Box from amazon.ca these past 2 months but last night I noticed that "Shipping to this address is not possible" on all movies suddenly. I'm in Finland (Europe). I emailed the customer service and only got a very generic reply asking to which zip code I'm trying to order (I already told them I'm in Finland, Europe). Just now tried to place another order and again it's telling me that they can not ship to my address. What the hell? I even have the Shout Factory Friday the 13th Bluray Box Set on preorder, thankfully they haven't canceled that order (as of yet).

Yeah, WTH? I wonder if its the size of the box?

Amazon.com will not let me order the Bugs Bunny 80th Anniversary Set to my Canadian address.

"This item cannot be shipped to your selected delivery location. Please choose a different delivery location."

https://www.amazon.com/Bunny-Anniversary-Collection-Limited-Blu-ray/dp/B08CPC8LGK

Amazon.ca does not yet offer it.

This is on-going and changes over time, but it's all due to CV-19 and what/which items are deemed "essential" by Amazon themselves. You can also try a third-party seller, but they too have changed back and forth between shipping/not shipping. I have also seen that some third-party International sellers, have started to refuse shipping via post-mail (to Canada specifically, where Canada Post then handles the final destination), due to their "sloth-like" handling of anything but letter mail. I was told and can attest, to the fact they have been delivering on Sunday's as well, mostly bulk packages. It may not be everywhere across Canada, but here in Toronto because the Mail Hub Center in Mississauga is considered "overloaded" and the "problem", where it affects the entire country, seems to be the reason for the 7 days a week deliveries. I would have to assume that this practice could also change at any time as well.

There have been massive delays with non-mail packages, myself included for about the past 4-5 months. I don't know if the backlog of packages have all been cleared and delivered, but I have 2 packages from the double D, shipped May 29th, that I still have not received.

So until all/some of the Amazon International sites around the world start allowing their shipment of goods here to Canada, you're going to see that "cannot deliver" message for a little while longer. As I mentioned above though, there have been times where I've seen shipping to Canada, only to disappear and be cancelled a few days later.

Good luck, but also have some patience. A lot of it.

A number of your points are not correct.

1) Amazon will not ship to other countries if the rights are owned by someone else in that country. They rarely enforce this but with some studios they do. The Amazons in US and UK follow this rule.

2) The "essential" rule only lasted for the first month or so. They now ship everything close to normal.

3) Canada Post is not "sloth-like". I will get parcels in the same amount time as I have always did as long as they are mailed in Canada. The delays are from other counties (especially the U.S.). You can see this on the tracking.

4) Canada Post has delivered parcels on Sundays for years. I have received parcels on Sundays for the last 7 or 8 years, maybe longer. They don't deliver on Saturdays though although you seem to infer that.

I agree with you on your other points, but I have never had a problem shipping from Amazon US or UK to Canada unless it is due to some marketplace seller.

I've had a few. There was a Retromedia release and Amazon US would not send it to Canada. This was years ago when Ray had his forum so I asked him about it and he claimed to have no clue as to why they wouldn't send it. I suspect when he set up the listing on Amazon, he clicked some box that stopped it going to other territories. On the UK site I've seen this much more often. There was a Shameless release that they would not send to Canada. About a year later, I tried again and this time they allowed it. Recently there was a J. G. Ballard novel that I missed when it first came out. Would not allow it to be shipped to Canada. And, I've seen a number of other listings there where it says that they can not be shipped to Canada (or US for that matter).

This is not a unique and/or specific problem, to just any one person, or just any one business. This is still an ongoing issue. FYI, I still haven't received the two packages that were shipped from the US on May 29th. Tracking number or not, it really hasn't mattered. Since you seem to have the answers, care to help me find them?

Next time you reply to me (or anyone else for that matter), try not to be an @$$-hole? You have a total of 17 posts over two years, 2 of which are in this thread. Someone asked a question and I gave my input on the situation. Okay? Good?

This not really an update on International Amazon shipping protocols (which are somewhat still in effect), but as I mentioned above, I had 2 packages from DD, shipped May 29th 2020, that I had still not yet received. Well... today was that day!!!

Not bad huh? 76 DAYS after shipping from Chicago IL, to Toronto ON, I can finally put this issue to rest. All labels, shipping addresses, names, etc. were correct, so there was no way these 2 packages somehow managed to take a gigantic detour, while all the other packages, sooner or later, showed up. They both had the original USPS labels, original tracking numbers, with the original date shipped as stated, May 29th 2020. Which means, there was no screw-up on DD's part. All the blame goes to Canada Post and Canada Post only. I was able to track it to the CA/US Border, clearing customs and then "poof", they just seemed to disappear.

/end_rant

P.S. Did I mention it took 76 DAYS?!?!

Hi

I am unable to import blu rays to the uk from amazon.ca anymore. It wont let me order them. I have spent 2 days with their CS to be told a number of different stories.
I ordered the Columbia Classics 4k collection from them only a couple of months ago.
Any thoughts?

This is a quick rundown of MY recent-past experiences with this issue. Some may not have had any problems, some may have had problems. This is just a generalization of the "possibilities" and "answers" to help you understand.

I believe this issue is with all Amazon sites worldwide, no matter where you are, or where you're ordering it to. In the upper left of any Amazon page, you'll see the "shipping to address". If you change the address from UK to Canada, it would ship because you can only ship within the same country. Same goes for my way, if I set the address as the UK, then I'd be able to have the item shipped.

It started not too long after CV-19, with Amazon only shipping within it's own territory/country, the essential items (food, drink, toiletries, personal care products, safety/emergency items, etc.). After a few months, it slowly returned to normal, but it has been shut down, or at least limited, at the most varying times and days. There's really no rhyme or reason to it, so either you take a chance and wait, or order from any independent 3rd-Party online retailer/distributor.

What makes this even more confusing, is I have seen items that were available for shipping (days, weeks, months - it doesn't really matter) prior, that are now, no longer available for shipping. And it's the same thing vice-versa as well. From what I do see, is that most pre-order items are unavailable to pre-order, but are then made available the day-of release. However, that doesn't mean it definitely will be, or definitely won't be.

Hope this helps you out, although it's not really an answer. Cheers!

I am interested in getting the Canadian version of the Kidnap (Halle Berry) blu-ray since it has a 14 minute longer cut. Canadian Amazon apparently does not ship to the US.

Are there any media type stores in Canada that do ship to the US currently? This could be mom & pop used media or whatever, just trustworthy. Best Buy Canada has the movie listed, but I looked all through their FAQs and never saw the US shipping question addressed.

Bestbuy.ca doesn't allow US shipping addresses to be entered, so I would presume they are a no-go.

Renaud-Bray has it, and they apparently ship outside of Canada:

Is there a way to e-mail Amazon.ca. I can't log into my account as it wants me to click a link texted to me, but I don't have a smartphone. I am in the UK

Hey guys, it seems it's still impossible to import Blu-rays from Canada anymore with Amazon.CA, when using an european shipping address (I also tried with an US shipping address as a matter of fact).

Do any canadian know of a company like Shipito which could receive my Amazon order and re-ship it to me in France?
Or maybe a nice canadian member who could help me out?

It's only 2 or 3 Blu-rays...

I just noticed this today. Won't ship to US. I can't believe it's still going on this long. Interestingly, I was able to order a blu-ray from amazon.de but not a jigsaw.

I don't remember seeing this in Sept 20. It looks like Shipping is $17.99 CAD to the US. That makes it way too much. I don't even know if I will like the movie, but if I see it, I want to see the longer cut first. There look to be some cheaper used copies on Amazon CA, but I don't know where they are with shipping now. Hardly any CA versions of this movie show up on eBay.
