Default Speaker companies with no ties to China.

Hi everyone, I'm Chuck. This is my first post on this forum. I have been into this stuff for about 25 years. After a divorce a few years ago, in which I lost my whole system, I took a brake from it for awhile. I'm back into it now and have discovered many of the manufactures are having their products built in China. I'm not going to go into my reasons here, but can anyone recommend some brands of speakers that are NOT made in China? I have spent hours, and hours, and hours...reasearching speakers I thought were made in America, only to find out after days of reaserch they recently started being built in China. So can any of you help me out? Thanks, Chuck.

This is easy! The answer is: Dynaudio They make their speakers from the ground up without outsourced labor or materials. That means that Dynaudio makes and assembles everything from the glue and brackets to the drivers, tweeters and cabinets

Even if the speakers are not made in China, almost all drivers (tweeters, midrange, woofers) are made in China or other low cost countries.

That is not acceptable. Dynaudio is a Danish company and I am sure most of their products are made in that inferior country, Denmark.

Chuck: you can also add Focal and I believe B$W(correct me if I'm wrong) among the few manufacturers that does not outsource materials/labor.

I'm sure there are several manufacturers who don't have any connection at all to China. As of a few years ago I know Paradigm, Magnaplaner, Martin Logan, Thiel, and many others did all of their speakers in house. I'm just trying to get as many ideas as I can, so I can do my research on the right companies. Does anyone know about Monitor Audio, and Kef?

What are your plans for amps and processor? I know B&K's are manufactured in Buffalo, NY.

As for Thiel Speakers, I do fear that their products will not be as superb inthe near future after the passing of Jim Thiel

Right now its an Onkyo 606. The upgrade of the rest of the system will be a long while down the road. But, I don't have any speakers now, except for my Magnaplaner MG-1c's. My current room is way too small for a maggie set-up. Looking for thin towers or bookshelfs with a really big voice.

Default Focals

Has anyone listened to the Focal Chorus speakers? I was reading a review in TAS by Robert Harley about the Focal Chorus 706V speakers, and his discription sounded about right for me. Then I saw a review of the 705V in What Hi Fi, and their discription was almost totally opposite. 706's were forward with lots of punch and impact, 705's were layed back and warm. Anyone heard both of these? Comments?
