Default Am I the only one who isn't a steelbook fan?

Hey

I've never really enjoyed steelbooks, and whenever presented with the choice of either steelie or plastic case, i've opted for plastic. I just think they look stupid on the shelf, and I like to see the blue plastic at the top

Having said that, I love me a big thick warm slice of cardboard sleeve. But I was just wondering if anyone else feels this way, as I feel like the only one who doesn't like steelie's

cheers

The amaray look stupid next to the steelbooks.
If you have all your steelbooks together it looks 100 time better than amarays!

VS.

You can't deny that!

Cheers,
Gui.

You've come to a section dedicated to steelbooks and steelbook fans to talk about how you don't like steelbooks?

In a SteelBook forum thread, you ARE the only one who doesn't like "Steelie's"!

Good post.

Maybe he never saw a bunch of steelbooks together but I think he's a troll too. I know we shouldn't be feeding them but sometime I do.

Cheers,
Gui.

Well, I think the answer to the question should be fairly obvious.

Though I have to admit, I'm only an occasional steelbook fan. I'll get them if it's not too much hassle, like I got the steelbooks for Snow White and Pixar's Up.

Anything that's only available from Canada or Europe? Forget it, as far as I'm concerned it isn't worth the hassle and the expense.

Yes, the steelbooks do look pretty, but I'm a utilitarian at heart, so I don't really buy with display in mind. It's a nice thing to hold, but most of the time, the DVD and blu-ray cases aren't something I'm even going to be looking at.

Having said that, I do wish studios here in the U.S. would use them much more often.

It's a collecting thing, pure and simple. I'm sure there are some people that think the way you do, but you seem to be the only one that would bother to come in here and ask what is obviously such a stupid question. I find it hilarious that you like cardboard slipcovers, yet you think SteelBooks "look stupid on the shelf." I prefer a slipcover to just a plain amaray case, but I prefer a SteelBook over both of those.
