Holland Up (The Netherlands - 16-12-2009)

As of 16 December 2009, Disney-Pixar will release two versions of Up on Blu-ray in The Netherlands. A 2-Disc release will be available for € 24,99 and a 4-Disc Superset will be a mere € 29,99.

The 4-Disc Superset will consist of the following discs:
1. Blu-ray Disc of the movie itself
2. Blu-ray Disc with a lot of extras
3. DVD of the movie itself
4. DVD with a bonus digital copy of the movie (probably iTunes and Windows Media)

So basically you'll get the movie three times.

Here are the artworks for both:

Currently there are a couple of promotions going on at FreeRecordShop.nl. If you are a Blu-ray Disc member, you'll always get 10% discount on all Blu-ray Discs. However, until the end of this year you'll also 20% discount on all Disney Blu-ray Discs.
Furthermore, FRS never charges shipping costs for pre-orders, so order it now and it will be shipped for free on the release date. Saves you € 1,95.
You can also go to Addiscount.nl and get another 10% discount with a maximum of € 3 on your purchase at FRS.
And finally FRS currently has a promotion going on where you'll get Prison Break: The Final Break on DVD free when buying either of these Blu-rays.
Too bad it's just the DVD, but it's free nonetheless.

I still have to work out how all this discount adds up, but I'll be ordering mine in a couple of minutes, so I'll let you guys know.

The first release is not a single disc release, but a two disc release.

Thanks, I've changed it.

Do you know wether the 2-Disc edition contains 1 Blu-ray and 1 DVD or 2 Blu-rays with the second disc filled with extra features?

As I've stated in the opening post, you can order it from http://www.freerecordshop.nl. However, I don't know where you live, since (as far as I know) Free Record Shop only ships to The Netherlands and Belgium.

Hold on, I've checked this for you and it seems that FRS does ship to the UK. I've added an existing UK address to my account to see what they charge for shipping to the UK and it looks like it's free. So that means you can order the 4-Disc there for € 21,59 when using both the 10% Blu-ray Club and 20% Disney Blu-ray discount.

For both discounts you'll need to sign up and the first is only possible when you bought a Blu-ray player at the Dutch electronics store BCC.

However, if the price seems alright for you, maybe we can work something out so I can order it for you (on my account with your address) or you will have to cope with having 'just' 20% discount.

ShockFly:

We obviously can't get the 10% Blu-Ray Club discount, but how does one (or in our case, two) get the 20$ Disney discount?

The Wilson Bros
20% = percent, not dollars.

http://www.funnygames.nl/site/frs.html

Here you will just need to enter the following credentials:
Vul dit formulier in en je gaat direct naar http://www.freerecordshop.nl/ voor jouw 20% korting! = Fill in this form and you'll immediately be redirected to http://www.freerecordshop.nl/ for your 20% discount!
Voornaam = First Name
Achternaam = Surname
Emailadres = I bet you can read this, although it is spelled slightly different.
Geboorde-datum = Date of birth
Geslacht = Gender (Man = Male, Vrouw = Female)
Check or uncheck the following note: "Yes, I would like to receive future offers and other news from the Walt Disney Company"
Versturen = Send

You'll also receive an e-mail with your discount code, so do enter a valid email address.

By the way, just to notify you: Dutch releases are normally technically identical to UK releases. In this case it'll probably contain English DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio, Dutch DTS-HD MA 5.1 or normal DTS 5.1. And also English (SDH) and Dutch subtitles.

Great, thanks!

I have already ordered the 4-Disc Superset for € 19,44. Although I don't think it contains any useable extras for me, the price difference after all discounts was only around € 3.
But anybody that doesn't want an extra DVD of the movie and/or a Digital Copy for their iPod/iPhone, can best buy the 2-Disc edition.

Come to think of it, I ordered it yesterday and after a couple of hours I received an email stating that Up was shipped. If that's correct, that means I would get it today or otherwise tomorrow. That would be crazy, 4/5 days before the official release.

When I receive it, I will make some pictures and let you all know the technical details.

And I've just received it. Here are the first pictures, more coming up. And I have to say that it's a really nice package, the best Pixar yet.

Thanks for the photos. It's a very nice packaging indeed. I just wish they'd made it blu-ray size, and not DVD.

Yeah, I didn't notice it at first to be honest. It stands right beside my Bonnie & Clyde Digibook and Close Encounters of the Third Kind 30th Anniversary Edition, which are only marginally shorter.

But placing it next to an Amaray case makes quite a difference indeed.

I got my copy of this saturday. I didn't need the dvd version or a Digital Copy, so I chose the 2-Disc set.
Can't wait for the rest of the Pixar films, especially Finding Nemo.

In the opinion of the seller it was simply not worth it for his collection. (I know, we should curse all Pixar haters...)
It took me 19 euro's, a reasonable price.
