Default What TV Shows Do You Collect?

Looking to get some new shows in the next couple of months, and as I cannot watch before I buy, I thought, why not ask what everyone else collects and why?

My collection includes:
US Shows.
The X-Files, Friends, The West Wing, Monk, Magnum P.I., King of the Hill, Family Guy, American Dad, Lost, MASH, 24, Home Improvement, Desperate Housewives, Boston Legal, Battlestar Galactica (original and remake), The Shield, Greys Anatomy, Star Trek (All), Eureka, House, Veronica Mars, Weeds
Supernatural, Deadwood, Numb3rs, Dexter, Babylon 5, Six Feet Under, Brothers & Sisters, Buffy.

UK Shows
Inspector Morse, Jonathan Creek, Monty Python's Flying Circus, Black Adder, Fawlty Towers, Yes Minister/Prime, Black Books, League of Gentlemen, Dads Army, Hancock, Life on Mars, Spaced,

And a few others, but you can get the feel of what I like

What's good?
What's on Blu? (region B/2 only I am afraid. DVD is good from everywhere)
What's had more than one season as I get annoyed buying a show, liking it, for it only to get cancelled? (Jericho, Sarah Connor)

Thumbs up

I collect the following shows:

Lost
The Cosby Show
Seinfeld
Three's Company
The Office
Survivor

I'll probably start collecting Prison Break once all seasons come out on Blu-ray and Curb Your Enthusiam as well.

I pretty much wait till DVD for all my shows so I collect a ton of t.v on dvd / blu. Sometimes, I start collecting a series but because it either turns bad (Heroes / Family Guy) or I just lose interest (American Dad), I stop collecting them.

my recent picks up:

- Bones: S4 (Blu)
- Birds of Prey: The Complete Series (Always wonder about this show and got it for 20 bucks)
- Dollhouse: S1 (Blu)
- Wolverine and The X-Men: S1
- Reaper: S2 (Sadly, cancelled now)

Series I pick up every year:

- Bones
- House (Waiting on a price drop for S5)
- How I Met Your Mother
- It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
- Lost
- The Simpsons
- Robot Chicken
- South Park
- Scrubs
- 30 Rock
- Weeds
- Smallville (Waiting on a price drop for S8)

I'm also a big fan of picking up shows I was somewhat interested in when they go on sale like I picked up Firefly on Blu back on Boxing Day (Solid show) and I'm waiting on a few shows to go cheap so I can see what they are about (Sons of Anarchy, Lie to Me)

That's the problem with TV shows. They either go bad like Heroes (sorry guys but did not like this one) or get cancelled. Would love to of seen Fringe as it seems like an X-Files replacement, but it seems on its last legs already.

As far as owned boxsets, I've got the pertinent seasons of "The Twilight Zone" and "The Flintstones" (both of which were geniuses of script for their day, but jumped sharks after their third seasons), only continued to buy "The Avengers" selectively after Mrs. Peel left, and currently holding off on "The Prisoner" Blu's until the November DeepDiscount sale--

And as I haven't gotten around to buying Trek:TOS on Blu, the rest I'm just compleat-Netflixing, one disk at a time...
Mostly to wine-sample the days of Classic Reruns, now that even Nick TVLand won't show them anymore (just four hours of Andy Griffith followed by four hours of Beverly Hillbillies, followed by four hours of Roseanne and The Nanny in prime-time, broken up by another gay Viacom celeb-reality series).

Since I never noticed them or got to see them uninterrupted when they were on local stations--and never got to appreciate what we had till it was gone--I'm currently working my way through:
- Columbo
- Have Gun Will Travel
- Mission: Impossible
- Dick Van Dyke Show
- Bob Newhart Show
- The Addams Family (yes, it's as funny as the movie)
- I Dream of Jeannie (to understand why I break up giggling watching this, one would have to have a strong working knowledge of Japanese anime )

My collection is all on DVD
Simpsons, gotta pick up the 12th soon
Sopranos, so sad it's over
Star Trek original, thinking about upgrading to Blu; paid a lot for the DVDs

Might start getting Dexter soon, seen a few episodes really liked it.
Really need to see True Blood, sounds interesting.

I have the following: The Twilight Zone, Magnum P.I., Cheers and Quantum Leap (Seasons 2,3,4 in Region 2 though as music rights could not be obtained in the US.). My wife has all seven seasons of I Love Lucy. I also have the mini series The Winds of War, War and Remembrence and North and South.

I do not think any of these shows will ever be put on the Blu Format. And even if they were would they really be worth the upgrade?

Some I collect are:
1) The Munsters
2) The Odd Couple
3) Mash-no I didn't buy the box set as I already have some seasons pre box set.
4)Home Improvement-slowly getting all the seasons.
5) The original Star Trek-yeah blu.
6) Seinfeld
7) Queer As Folk
8)Sliders-started collecting the series till they changed the show and made it more alien oriented which is what made me not like it as much. I loved the idea of alternate Earths but when they introduced aliens in a lot of the episodes that's when I think the show took a turn for the worse.
