Why was he 295 in wwe? yet in ufc his 265.
Did he lose weight or was that just wwe making him seem bigger? |

WWE has fudged weight in the past for their bigger "Superstars," Andre the Giant and Big Show, for example. I believe Brock's usual weight is around 280, but the max weight for the UFC heavyweight division is 265, so he has to cut down.

this. Been following lesnar since he was in jr college with a buddy of mine. Off training he's around 290 been up to 305 before. Max heavyweight limit is 265. He cuts, then is around 280-285 fight day. Got a few pics he took with me when we were at a smaller mma event in northern Minnesota.

Yeah, I mean it's all relative. I would say for the most part that a wrestler would be more likely to hang in a world's strongest man competition than an MMA fighter would. Rasslin' is all about strength and muscles, which are attained through intense lifting (and probably an unhealthy amount of 'roids); whereas MMA fighters have to have a much broader specturm of physical abilities covered and are obviously in much better cardiovascular condition -- the latter of which inherently reduces (or at least limits) the amount of strength and muscle mass one can have.
Either way, Lesnar is a pretty good talent in a very large package. It's too bad that MMA doesn't have too many good heavyweights so he could be truly tested. Most of the heavyweights are flabcakes with zero definition. I'd love to see Lesnar/Kimbo just for fun, although I think we have seen that Kimbo probably isn't the real deal. He was talking a lot of smack a while back on ESPN about how he'd take him no problem in a street fight. I could never quite understand the logic in that. If anything, he'd probably lose worse in a street fight (i.e. no rules). |
