Correct me if I'm wrong potheads, but I don't believe you can get high from eating pot plants. You have to activate the THC by carbonizing or something like that. At least that's what a coworker who makes pot brownies used to tell me.

The THC (accidentally typed THX) must be chemically converted from the plant form before the body can metabolize it. I think the THC isn't water soluble so you cook it with butter to extract it. Then you use the butter in the brownies.

yeah I was just making a joke about the guy being high after eating the plants.
brownies get you high because you cook the thc out of the plants by using a fat first. THC is only fat soluble so you have to cook the weed in butter or oil first to leech it out and then use that green fat to make the brownies with.Just don't use too much heat during the leeching process or it will destroy the THC as well..uh, this is what I've heard... ![]() another quick recipe for a quick herbal tea or coffee. use full fat cream in a small pan and throw some ground up goodness in it, stir with wooden spoon on low medium for about 10-15 minutes, if it starts evaporating too fast add a touch of water. strain it using a metal strainer lined with either muslin cloth or an old clean(you filthy hippies) bandana. use the spoon to squeeze out as much goodness as you can hwile the pulp sit int he strainer. you should now have a green cream. use some then or let it come to room temp and place it in your fridge and add a teaspoon or two to a cup of coffee for a nice body high...so I've heard... ![]() Last edited by Teabaggins; 10-19-2009 at 08:18 PM. |
