I have the polk RM705 but i would like to know what frequency i should put my speakers at. i know i could get more sound out of these speakers. I have an onkyo-606.
My Front: 120hz Center: 100hz Surround: 120hz LPF of LFE:120hz This is the tech site http://www.polkaudio.com/homeaudio/r...cs.php#systems. please any help would be appreciated. Thank You! |

First off it is best to have all the crossovers at the same level, most importantly is the Front 3, but ideally all of the speakers. By your specs you could crossover as low as 80 hz and should be fine. I don't know if your receiver will let you go up and down by increments of 10 hz or not, but I would play with it to see what suits you best.... Start at 80 and work from there.

at 120 hz crossover, you are getting more of just the upper mid-bass and higher frequencies, It should sound fuller and perhaps lower because you are introducing some of the lower frequencies into the main channel speakers, but this will give you a fuller sound vs just the highs.
