Default New system...

Long time lurker, rare poster.
Moving house...wanna upgrade.

looking at the LG 50PQ3000 50-inch Widescreen HD Ready Plasma TV and the LG HT554TH 5.1ch DVD Home Cinema System

My budget is about a grand (euros) I'm in ireland so buying local (and in Northern Island) But I'm really a Home theater 'tard and dunno if this is the best I can get. Not set on 50" I had 42" before but then I moved abroad and its been adopted by a family member. They are gonna pay me for it now and I'm upgrading!
Also not set on the brand...they were picked separately and I didn't even notice they were both LG. Want a decent setup but nothing over complicated!

any advice?

Well I'm not sure what the product availability is in N. Ireland, but I used to have an LG lcd tv and really liked it. As far as home theater in a box sets I personally think Onkyo offers the most bang for the buck.

No harm trying all the usual outlets? - Harvey's, Powercity, Peats (very expensive) Currys?

I would def recommend going up North if you can. Newry is as far as you need to go.. You will save a few hundred Euros easily!
