Default Dali Ikon 7 Tone Question

Hi Guys -

I just bought another set of Dali Ikon 7's ( I have another pair already in my room).

However, I noticed that the new pair of dali ikon 7's; The middle woofer speaker on the left, and the bottom woofer speaker on the right is out of tone with the other speakers. Its just in the middle of the speaker, not the outside of the woofer. You know that thing in the middle of the woofer that is round that appears glued in the middle of the woofer, seems to be out of tone with all other speakers. Its just 1 speaker's middle part.

My other older dali ikon 7's are all the same tone, every part of it; however the newer ones have this problem.

Is this normal? I dont want to have been sold "refurbished" speakers when I was told they were new. The box was sealed I believe, it still had that brown tape with strings in the tape itself like diamand design.

Thanks guys

Can you show us a comparison picture? And, how long have you owned your first set of these? I ask, as manufacturers have made changes to existing models without changing the model #. Maybe that is the case in this scenario.

There are several ways, but I'm no expert in this regard as I struggle with it myself at times.

I would host your pics on something like Photobucket and then link us to it in a post.

I would also suggest that you get in touch with Dali Customer Service and pose them your inquiry.

Are you refering to the color tone or the tone of the sound it produces?

Either way, it shouldn't be a problem. That thing in the middle is just a dust cap for the voice coil. If you are going to keep the grills off and always be able to see it then you may want to look into an exchange. But if you're going to keep the grills on then I doubt you will ever notice a difference.

thats funny because I don't remember the Dali Ikons having a dust cap when I auditioned them... unless I am not seeing it.

It's there, it's just inverted and made of the same material as the cone.
