Amazon Sailor Moon Stars (Import) DVDs Added To Amazon!

Sailor Moon Stars has (kinda) been added to Amazon!

They're imports, but each volume is only $9.09 and comes from Amazon US!

Sounds fishy.

Edit: There's no entry for it on ANN's anime release schedule. I'm calling bootleg.

Edit 2: However, it could be a listing for this Region 2 Italian DVD set (Japanese/Italian dub, Italian subs only), which would make some sense since Italy was one of several European countries to receive the fifth season.

The price is what doesn't make sense, since €29.69 is $41.08.

It's most likely the Italian set as Amazon has been putting up a lot of import releases recently. Mostly from Japan but a few others have snuck in there as well. The price is most likely a mistake at this point.

I thought that they could be the Italian DVDs. Some people do sell them on eBay for like $10-20 per volume (last time I saw), but I still figured that an official release, especially an import, would more likely be $25+. $9 per set is like an old price from the 1990's / early 2000's. Some anime like Naruto currently sell for around $10, but anime has generally gotten more experience over the years. Anyway, if they do end up being some sort of official release, then I will probably buy them, especially for $9. English subtitles or not, it'd just be nice to have some sort of release. The Japanese imports do not have any subtitles and would be more expensive + I have an Amazon Prime account, so shipping is free and I'd get them sooner than if I bought them elsewhere.

A couple of things,

1. Anime used to be more expensive 10-15 years ago than it is now, especially when you were buying by individual volumes.

2. Since this release is Region 2 DVD, you're going to need region-free playback capability.
