Arrow Animated 3D Feature TERMINATOR 3000 (Pacificor Sends Cease and Desist Letter)

Source: Worst Previews

Quote:
Hannover House has announced that it has teamed with Red Bear Entertainment to develop a 3D animated feature called "Terminator 3000," an $70 million movie based on the original "Terminator" film.

Story details are being kept a secret, but the writers and production team have a stated that the goal is to minimize the violence in order to obtain a PG-13 movie. Details will be revealed later this year and production is set to begin in January.

Halcyon Media was the owner of the "Terminator" franchise and went on to develop "Terminator Salvation," the fourth installment. But when sister companies of Halcyon got into financial trouble, "Terminator" rights went on sale. Pacificor ended up purchasing the franchise at a low price and now retains approval over "Terminator 3000."
Doesn't sound like a good idea to me

I think it's best to reserve judgment (day). Who knows? Maybe it turns out to be one of the best of the franchise! The fact that it's based around the original Terminator just goes to show that they're blatantly cashing in on the homage of it all, but that's not always a bad thing.

However, PG-13 and the original Terminator don't belong in the same sentence. I can't wait to see how they pull that one off.....

What kind of animation are they planning on computer animation or hand drawn? Don't ask me why but i could see a hard drawn animated Terminator being good with they right people involved. As for PG-13 i don't like that idea but if they can make it kind of dark and awesome Batman Under The Red Hood was i would be happy. I will reserve more judgement till i see more about it.

It's quite sad to see once great franchises run into the ground. Terminator 1+2 are legendary while thye managed to do an admirable job on Terminator 3. Then came the tv show. It had its moments but they tried to cram way too many plot lines into that second season. It was very hard to keep track of everything. Terminator 4 was just crap and now this.

Everything that has come after the greatness of T1 and T2 has been OK to just down right bad.

Animation is a interesting idea and will wait for more details.

Don't fully agree with you.In some respects T3 is better than T2-atleast in the acting department.Think T3 is an underrated movie.I am not saying it is better than T2,but T2 has some serious flaws, but it is a superlative movieexperience despite it's flaws.

But if you refer to T4 as the bad one,I'll agree with you there.Just another actionmovie it felt like to me.But the CGI moment with Arnold was a stand-out scene

It doesn't sound like a great idea to me, but then again I suppose this is one way of being able to get Arnie back in the iconic role, without him having to be physical.

So instead of moving forward with the story.....they're going backwards.....and it's going to be animated?

No thank you. Disappointing news.

Can't one make a decent live-action "Terminator" film with that much money?

Ok guys, I say we all pool our money and buy the rights to the franchise. Then we can just let it sit so it can't be ruined anymore.

Or................do a new movie right.

Hopefully, the Screen Actors Guild will try to kill it. A 3-D CGI remake of the original Terminator would all but prove SAG's worst fears about animation & performance capture putting them out of a job (which is why Avatar got zero Oscar noms for acting). Especially since Arnold Schwarzenegger is term-limited as governor, so he'll be available (either for the movie or as SAG president) in 2011.
