I have a Sony Vaio Home Theater PC with the Matsushita BD-CMB UJ-120 drive. I cannot burn DVD+R DL discs at all. I have tried several different programs, Windows, Roxio, Total Media Extreme and it will not burn the discs. I get an error message with each one. I just installed a firmware update for it last night too, which didn't help either. Each gets to the point of burning the disc and then ejects it saying burn failed. I was trying to burn an AVCHD disc. I did get it to burn a smaller DVD-R disc just fine. I did have a problem just trying to burn a TV show that I recorded with Windows Media Center onto a DVD-R disc too. I haven't successfully done that yet either. I was just trying to burn the show as a DVD and got an error when it started to burn.
I started using a Hauppage HD PVR to record a couple TV shows in HD and create AVCHD discs. Like I said, I was able to do a DVD-R disc just fine and it played just fine, but the other show that I recorded at a higher bit rate requires a DVD+R DL disc. I tried to burn it last night and figured I wouldn't have any problems since the first test disc went smoothly. The Total Media Extreme program errored out as soon as it tried to burn. I tried it again with another disc, same problem. So, I decided I was just going to burn some data onto the disc and see what would happen. I tried the Windows program and the Roxio program, but the same thing happened. Each time it would start to try to burn the disc, it would fail. Next part of the story. So, I have an older ASUS DVD burner (external) that I hooked up to the computer and tried running the Total Media Extreme program again. This time it did start to actually burn the disc. I thought I was safe, BUT the burn failed at 80% ![]() Is there something that could be causing this? I tried searching everywhere, but couldn't find anything. Sorry for such a long post. |
