Default emotiva bridging

hi,

i am thinking about getting 2 XPA-5 to power my 7.1 setup , my question is does emotiva support output bridging? my RTI A9 can use this.

i read the manual and it's not mentioned, so please advise.

BTW the manual mention that it's rated 250W per chanel into 8 ohms while the site mention 200w, any thoughts on this?

thanks in advance.

The Emotiva amps are not bridgeable. You can run 2 XPA-5's for your setup, but a better solution would be the XPA-2 and XPA-5 combo.

well from what I understand....XPA-3 sounds so much different than an XPA-5.

if you got the budget...XPA-3 and 2 XPA-2s.

Are you insinuating that one sounds better than the other, or just different? I'm just curious.....

Curious as to where you heard this? They are the same amp design. The only difference is the number of channels.

I'd like to hear a source on that as well.

There is no source... he is mistaken. As jlafrenz stated, they are literally the SAME design minus 2 channels on XPA-3 with a slightly smaller power supply since its only made to power 3 speakers.
