For lack of a better place to post, I figured I'd try here.

Has anyone heard of or tried this universal remote .
It is on sale at Amazon for $39.99

It looks OK, aesthetically speaking that is. It reminds of those Sony models that were out five or six years ago, only in a smaller, black body — something like the RMAV3000. If number entry is done only with the buttons on the touch screen screen, that will suck for a user, as the button space seem small. It might be worth it, though, for such a low price. The markdown from $210 to $40 might be an indication of its functionality and usefulness.

What kind of macros can it do?

I'm totally spoiled on my Harmony One, so I'd probably never go with something like that.

I know it's expensive, but I LOVE my 1100. I have tried a few of the $35-$75 remotes only to give them away. For my needs, they did not fill the bill.

This remote is supposed to be programmable from preset codes, code searches, via an internet download, or as a learning remote with your dedicated remote facing it and taking the instructions directly.
