Default Best opening credits of all time!

A lot of people are responding to my "Best score track of all time" thread and saying Superman is the best(which is tough to argue).

In my mind Superman has the best OPENING CREDITS of any film...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qHDW...eature=related

What do you think?

Starwars of Course is memorable but they don't have any credits until the end of the film so it doesn't count.

... any other gems out there?

There are many original and great opening credits.

Classics aside, I have always been quite partial to the opening sequence of Tim Buton's Planet of the Apes. Actually, I walked out of that movie (at the end) thinking the opening credits were better than the movie.

Who's going to be the jerk and point out that the Titles come at the beginning of the film, and the Credits are at the end?

Crap...it was me.

But the answer to the question is Raging Bull.

Well, I don't recall any classics at this moment, but I have to say that I was impressed by the long opening credits sequence in WATCHMEN, under Bob Dylan's "The times they are-a-changing". The sequence was long, but contained a lot of story and was interesting.

Star Wars, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Lord of the Rings, The Matrix Trilogy. Pretty much any movie that doesn't show any credits at the beginning.
