Default uncharted 2"freezing issues"

Hey there guys, i dont want to sound like a sook, but is there any one having freezing issues with this game.In chapter 4 "the dig" i cant seem to get past the grenade cut scene which freezes on me. I have 2 consoles being 60gb orig model and the slim line model and it is freezing in the same scene in both players.I have taken the game back to where i purchased it and they have replaced the game for me with a new disc and still the same problem. So far it sounds like a firmware problem. I am just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this issue Regards Grassy

Nope, no problems here and I'm already halfway through my third playthrough.

I didn't experience any kind of technical issues with the game when I played through it. Have you called Sony and/or Naughty Dog?

Yesterday i sent an email to "Naughty Dog" and am waiting for a reply. Just asking them if they had any ideas as to what it could be. As far as sony goes, i think it would be a good idea if i were to send an email there way also. Thanks for the concern

My game did lock up in Chapter 25, but the game had auto-saved so when I reloaded it so- no worries.

In my 3 playthroughs (normal, hard, and crushing) mine only froze once. It was during my first play on normal and it was also in level 25. I gave the game to my brother the other day and he hasn't told me of any problems.

I just got to chapter 25 on my first playthrough... haven't gone through the level yet, turned it off right at the start. I have a 60gb original PS3 also and so far no glitching (besides minor graphical stuff) and definitely no freezing.... knock on wood!

I'll see how chapter 25 goes tonight...

Mine froze at one point, I restarted my system and it went right on from the checkpoint. I've been hearing a lot of cases of it freezing at the exact same time in the game.

Mine locked up at chapter 25 as well twice once on Normal then at the same spot on Hard. I had to shut the system down and like you I had auto-save so it was not a big deal.

drummerboy: make sure you have upgraded your firnmware to 3.01 from 3.0 it was not a mandatory update I dont think, but was supposed to deal with certain games locking up in 3.0

If you have already done this, please disregard this notice

What PS3 system update do you have ?

You need the latest update, your console will not prompt you to do it. This was a add on because games like Uncharted 1 were freezing. The update was for Uncharted 2 among other things.
Do use the latest system update, and I'm sure this is what Naughty Dog is going to tell you also.

I've had zero freezing issues with the latest system update. Some users don't realize that they did a patch update, and think the latest update is the one causing the freezing, not the case. But once again you have to update it yourself, the system on this update (patch really) will not prompt you to do it.

Interesting, seems like Chapter 25 has a bit of an issue. I also had this happen last night at chapter 25 I believe. Upon restarting everything else worked fine though.

Thanks

i had one lock up during my time playing, and it was on chap 25 during my crushing playthrough, it happened right after that circular room in the temple, i paused it to take the dog out and when i came back, it wouldnt unpause, luckily it had autosaved and i didnt have to fight the enemies in there again
