Arrow *Official* Creed Thread

Yes, Creed. That one band from the late 90's/early 2000's that sold 35 million+ albums. Well, they started touring a couple weeks ago and have a new album titled Full Circle coming out on October 27th with their first new song "Overcome" hitting radio stations tomorrow.

Anyways, the song got leaked onto the internet yesterday and while it is certainly different than all of their old songs, it KICKS ASS. Prepare to hear it being played EVERYWHERE on radio stations tomorrow for MONTHS.

Their new song "Overcome" is everywhere on the internet. Check out mediafire.com. It should still be there unless Wind-up pulled it again.

The song kicks ass and is certainly different than their old stuff. Check it out bro. I'll bet you that you'll like it.

Creed used to be my favorite band and because of it, my new favorite band is Alter Bridge. I hope the new song sounds cool. But I still don't like what the other members have done to Myles Kennedy. Sure he 'jammed' with Zep, but c'mon, that's your band.

I love Mark Tremonti solos as much as anything in the world and this one does not disappoint. But I've got to be honest, some time between my love of Creed and now, I lost interest in Stapp's voice and this song only reminded me of that. Music has always been something I've had to give numerous chances to so I can't say how much I could like this song, much less the entire album. But I did like this song.

I was never a big Creed fan for the most part.

But I did love certain songs:

With Arms Wide Open
Higher
One Last Breath (my favorite)
My Sacrifice

I loved Stapp's solo cd
Was insanely anticipating his 2nd album since the first but it doesn't look like it will until the Creed tour is over (if then).

Creed with its own thread?! Hmmmm...

Anyway, I did (and still do) like Higher, but for the most part, Creed to me came along at totally the wrong time. They sound a bit too much like a Pearl Jam Lite, like so many bands that came out in the 1990s. That's not to knock them or anything, because they're one of the few bands during that time that when they came on the radio, I'd actually leave it on the station instead of turning it. It's just that when they came along, their sound (to me) was nothing new or different, and they didn't really stand out from the rest of the music that was coming out at that time.

I don't know who was out first between Pearl Jam and Creed, but I'm guessing it was Pearl Jam; they definitely had more success earlier.

Now I'll go back to the classic rock thread.

That's what I thought. I was just thinking in terms of popularity, PJ was way before Creed. You never know, though; sometimes a band is around for many years before they become popular.

Yup. But on the same token, I get pissed everytime someone mentions that Creed is a ripoff to PJ. I actually love BOTH bands, and in all honesty, I think that they both have their own distinct sound. To each their own I guess...

The only CD I have is Weathered. I have not listened to it since the year it came out. I might just listen to it now in my ipod. As just have to find it. Too much hip-hop music...

I remember the members of Pearl Jam when they were playing in a band called Green River, and don't forget Mother Love Bone as well.....this is where all them but Eddie came from before "grunge" came on.....

As far as Creed, it was a typical rise and fall as I see it. My Own Prison is still their best song IMO.

I'm sensing some (possibly warranted) sarcasm here. Warrant was — and is — still pretty popular and is considered classic rock by many radio stations! I doubt Creed will get to that level, but a few of their songs have some pretty serious staying power, such as the ones in the Diesel's post.

Hearing Here I Go Again on a classic rock station was one of the first times I thought to myself "man, I must be getting old."
