Default Do you have to ask your Wife

I have noticed allot of post saying they had to get approval from the wife before making a purchase. I just wanted to create a poll to see how many people have asked the wife before upgrading.

I don't like the phrase that I have to ask my wife before I buy something. However, if you just go out and buy something pricey without saying anything that's a good way to cause problems. With any expensive purchase my wife and I usually discuss it first to determine the best way to go about buying it (saving vs. credit card, etc.). I don't mean to make it sound like this is some epic discussion. Usually it's done in 2-3 minutes, but having that 2-3 conversation can save you a lot of headaches later.

Asking your wife, and coming to a mutual decision with your wife are two different things. That being said, there have been times that I have bought things without discussing it with her first, and she has never stood steadfastly against any purchase I have discussed with her.
