Default Sony Vaio VGN-AR11s DVD Blu-ray Matshita BD-MLT UJ210

Hi,
I've had this laptop for 2 years and have never tried a blu-ray disc, i just tried it and it doesn't recognise the disc. I have tried the driver updates from sony and i have downloaded Corel windvdpro2010 (which doesn't even open it usese all of virtual memory).
I have windvd intervideo, interactual player, windows media player, click 2 dvd, ulead BD Discrecorder and none of them read the disc. I have tried 5 brand new Blu-Ray films and all with no result.
Please HELP.
Dee

A few questions to try to eliminate possibilities:
1. Where did you buy your laptop (country)?
2. Which region settings do you have for DVD and for Blu-ray? (look in hardware, device manager, properties)
3. Does it play DVD's well? And, from which region are those?
4. Does your software support Blu-ray? (often an additional plug-in for additional money)
5. What region are the BD-discs from that you are trying?

(by the way, since you have a Panasonic/Matsushita drive appearently, you will not be able to unlock it for multi-region use, unfortunately)
