Default BDs you thought about buying for long time (over a year), but didn't pull the trigger

What are some of your blu ray releases that you've been going back and forth about buying for a long time, maybe even had in the Amazon shopping cart, but in the end didn't manage to pull the trigger (so far)?

Mine are:

Mulholland Drive - various international releases, but heard that the picture quality is okay but could be better so I'm waiting for the US (Criterion?) release
Two-Lane Blacktop (Criterion) - might pick it up next month

Before the Devil Knows You're Dead

I always saw it in the $8 bin but never pulled the trigger. Then when I decided to go buy it after PSH died, I can't find it anywhere

I finally bought Cool Hand Luke this month after being on the fence about it for over a year and half. It's one of those Blu-rays that I've picked up every single time I've seen it in the store, but I just never seemed to get around to buying. What pushed me over the fence this month was seeing a brand new copy for five dollars.

gone back and forth over whether the movie was good enough to overcome the poor audio and mediocre video quality

great movie, but like most Kino titles it is higher than what I'm willing to pay. Once it hits $15,it'll be mine.

Godzilla (Criterion). I'm not a big Godzilla fan, and it's been many years since I've seen it. Before blu-ray, if I was debating whether or not to purchase a movie, I'd just buy it. Now that I'm more conscious of cost and space, I try to stick to the films that I know I'll watch repeatedly in the years to come.

Lots of movies, but one I can note is the Star Wars saga set. I know I need it in my collection but everytime I think of getting it I always just imagine the 9 movies I can instead.

Quite a few in my wishlist. I have seen plenty get close to the price point I want and it takes pure will to keep from buying.

Most Olive and a bunch of Kino releases I feel this way on. I know I buy more expensive titles but I usually only order online from Amazon and the pricing for most of their titles are awful once pre-order pricing goes back up. (I refuse to ever order from Deep Discount and the like no offense to those who love them but I dislike their shipping) Because of this I have them on a wish list but hardly ever buy those titles.

Same here. With the exception of a few must have titles I haven't bought as many Kino, Criterion, Olive titles as I want due to the high price. It also really bothers me that Olive is too cheap and lazy to include subtitles.

Pretty much everything from big studios. They will be available for a long time, and at a lower price if I wait.

Most of my purchases now are more obscure titles from smaller studios.

There's a lot of catalog titles that are sitting in various amazon carts, but the one that stands out is the Superman anthology. Wanted to buy it at release but had too much else to buy, and I still had the tin dvd set. Almost bought it a few times, saw it for $80 at Walmart one Christmas, then went back and it was gone. Then this summer it was on for. $47 on amazon.ca, so I pulled the trigger. I know the UK set is cheaper but wanted the NA packaging. Very happy with it.

haven't pulled the trigger because I'm not sure I'll have the time to watch it....which will then lead to it just collecting dust......

THE INSIDER - Been waiting for this to hit a $10 price point since it came out. I just cant seem to justify spending $15 on this release with such few special features/no slipcover etc.

I've been waiting on a price drop as well. It's never dipped below $14 and who knows why. I personally am waiting for $7.99 or less.

For me its "They Live" from Scream. I've never seen it and I just can't pull the trigger at that price point on a blind buy when I'm not sure if I'll watch it again.

Their shipping is notoriously slow. Most of their BDs take anywhere from 7-10 business days where Amazon is more like 4-5 if you don't have Prime.

I've only been buying movies again after a really long hiatus (6 or 7 years) in the last two months. However, I can already see that there are a few things I want that I am on the fence about.

It looks like the Marvel movies are locked into higher prices, which I guess fits in with Disney's traditional plan of not lowering the perceived value of their bigger films. That means Avengers, Captain America 1 and 2 and Guardians are the only titles I can see getting at the premium list price. I can see going back and forth on the Marvel output for some time to come.
