Default Can a blu be resurfaced?

I bought a "brand new" ps3 game on ebay really cheap. It came today and it wasnt actually brand new, you could tell it was shrink-wrapped, and no security seals. The disc itself is flawless.. but I don't see any indication of the glossy protective coating either.. I wonder if its been resurfaced like a sd disc and how else i can tell.

No, a BD should not be resurfaced. The protective coating is there because the data is more densely packed than a dvd or cd. If a BD was attempted to be resurfaced, it likely would not play or skip like crazy.

I thought it was because the data layer was closer to the surface.

Yea it works fine- its probally a game i'll beat quickly and trade-in. I was juts a little curious if i should warn people with my feedback because the game was obviously shrink wrapped. Except for no glossy appearance it seems perfect.. and plays fine...

So....there's no *actual* problem with the disc you bought, then?

The guy shouldnt be selling the game as brand new if it's been opened.

Was this from a merchant called pieceofmindmedia, or pieceofmindbooks? I've bought from them three times now. One of the three games was actually new and factory sealed. The other two items they say were NEW, but were actually resurfaced, re-shrinkwrapped and listed as new. The first item, they gave me a refund and even sent a pre-paid mailing label to return the disc. The second one I wound up keeping but I'll never order from them again.
