Default Company claims its new innovation will make dvds and BDs that last 1,000 years

The technology looks doable and not that costly for the extra benefit. It would be interesting to see this applied on a consumer level at some stage.

1000 years, huh? Well, too bad none of us will be around that long and blu-ray probably won't be around then.

Who do you complain to if you disc "only" lasts 900 years?

Wish something like this was available where my Dad could have permanently saved his 8-track tapes for me. First time I saw one I wondered "what is this thing?"

In 1000 years, who will really care.

right, 100 years from now I will care less if they are still readable nor will any of us so i am not even thinking about 1000 years.....

Good marketing strategy though

Bad news... nobody will. Some jackass will have started a nuclear-based war, and humans will be lucky to be around.
