Yes the only thing I think they are really good for is the deal where you trade in 4 DVDs and get a future release blu-ray for 50% off. Most of the time I feel like their used prices are similar to new blu-ray prices from Amazon.

If you had said you got both for $20, Id think you got a deal, but since ID4 is close to $15 new, Ill say you did average.]

I dont have a moviestop, but I hear they open all their blus before selling them.

I just got I Love You, Man used for $12 after trading in 3 worthless DVDs from MS. In fact I'm going in today to trade in four more DVDs for 50% off of Public Enemies. They also price match. So let's say if in November BB sells Up for $26-$27, you could get it for $13 if you pre-order it at MS.

Here's an example of how movie stop is a great store!! I got my $10 coupon for Snow White - then sold my OLD Snow White copy to moviestop for $12.00 - so I will be pciking up NEW Snow White Blu for $3 total tomorrow from BB. - they are a great store to trade and find used products from.

yeah I tend to get new releases for under $10 with the trade 4 get 50% off. I got Wolverine for free, and have Transformers 2 and the Hangover both reserved for 50% off, plus about $60 worth of credit from trade-ins that I'll probably use towards Season 1 of the Sopranos or Season 5 for Lost.

Same here. I rarely find good deals there, and their trade-in program for Blu Rays sucks.

There are a couple of Moviestops where I live, but IMO the deals aren't all that great. Buying used in there is usually considerably more than buying off the trading forum here. Their used prices usually about even with Amazon's new prices.

Moviestop isn't as good as they used to be. They used to have a "trade three, get $19.99" but have since changed it to four, and they now have to be over a certain trade in value. Their price match policy changed as well as now they will only price match if you preorder. At least that's how mine is.

I know what you mean. When I first started going to Moviestop, it was trade in any three DVDs from a major studio for a new release DVD. This was before I started buying blu-rays by the way. Then it went to four DVDs from a major studio for a new release DVD. Then it went to four DVDs that had a 'minimum trade-in value' for the new release. Then that minimum trade-in value has gone up a time or two. Now it's just gotten riduculous and it's no longer worth messing with them IMO.

Noticed also if you've pre-ordered there they won't let you know it's out if you forget it.

Gamestop has partial ownership over Moviestop just to let you know. But there is so few locations finding 1 is a miracle. They don't even have here in California.

I gave up on selling used DVDs after I went to a Buy Backs here in Ohio and they wanted twenty-five cents each for Creepshow, the Harry Potter films, and Daredevil. Hell to the no. I'll give my DVDs to my sister whenever I upgrade to Blu-ray versions.
