Default Epic Movie

At Sam's Club this morning, noticed that Epic Movie is out on DVD, get home,I check to see if this is out on BR, nope, see who put it out....Fox, so now it looks like they are not even putting out new movies( and the catalog titles) out on Blu Ray now and this movie was a hit, made $85,479,299 at the Box Office....I wish Fox would at least say they are waiting on BD+.

I am just amazed that after making such a big splash at CES, they now are starting to become a non-issue for Blu Ray.

Be glad this movie isn't on Blu-Ray. It was the biggest piece of crap I've seen in a long time.

Not the point, the point is that Fox is avoiding putting out anything now, new releases and catalog titles, on Blu Ray, and since the pre-sell stuff for retailers is now out for titles coming out in August, that means not one Fox title on BR for June, July and August.

well considering bd+ isn't out til nov., id expect that. im not worried til they release a bad xmas lineup. remember fox worked on sony with BD+ i have a feeling they will be BDs strongest seller over the holidays. xmas 07 will nail HD DVDs coffin, actually the coffin is already nailed, xmas 07 will bury it.

oh and about epic movie, one of the worst ive ever seen. i have no idea why the main theme of the parody was Narnia, its just not that good of a thing to parody. my gf and i went to see it b/c it was the only thing playing at the movies at the time, and we came out just in awe of how bad it was.

Where did you hear that BD+ isn't out until November? That's when BD-J profile 1.1 becomes mandatory on all new players, but that's interactivity. I haven't heard anything on BD+ not being ready until November; I've actually heard rumors that it will be the end of the summer, but they're rumors, as I said.

If you can point me towards anything, thanks, but I think you might have BD+ and BD-J mixed up (pretty easy to do, since we're waiting on both).

I can safely say this movie was in the top 3 worst films I have ever seen in my entire life. I am more than happy for this to never ever come out on blu-ray.

It was a horrible movie. I sadly have to say I bought it. But....I watched it on PS3 w/1.8 and the upconversion of this is incredible! It was pretty hard to tell that it wasn't true 1080.

That's cool, I'm hoping to hear for a word on when BD+ will be ready, and thought you had found something.

BD-J is the interactivity technology of blu-ray (PiP, Liar's Dice on POTC movies, that's how they run).

BD+ is the new security tech for blu-ray. Basically, it enables every disc to be coded w/ a different key, not just every movie. Theoretically, if you were to crack the key on your BD+ title, it wouldn't do me much good, since my disc of the same title would have a different key.

That's it in a nutshell, others can explain it more in-depth, but I'm off to enjoy the rest of the Holiday weekend.

Fox hasn't put all of their recent movies out on BD even when they were releasing. My Super Ex-Girlfriend, John Tucker Must Die, Borat, etc.

I think the reason it's not out on BLU-RAY is because FOX knows their 'core' audience on this film, and they know that (for the most part), those who will want this movie own DVD, and not BD. I mean, come on, it's a lowest common denominator, leave your brain at the door kind of movie.

Sorry if that sounds mean, but it is. I would rather FOX release classic films from their large vault, on BD, then concentrate on dogs like this.

I'd never even heard of it until this thread. I can't say I'm burning with desire to see it.

Your figures are just plain wrong. Epic Movie only grossed $39,737,645.

Based on your post history, it doesn't sound like you're interested in facts though...
