Since i got my new TV ive been having problems. 1) ive noticed that for some damn reason my Onkyo 806 will not do OSD in 1080p, umm why!?! and i hooked my 360 up via HDMI to the receiver and i have no sound. Its not cable issue, or a problem with my wiring. Any thoughts?

maybe you have some settings within the receiver that got reset after plugging and unplugging stuff. It's possible your receiver didn't retain any previous settings, and now you need to re-do all of that. Check it out, only thing I can think of.

If you have not changed any settings then you’re optical or which ever you had before for sound is still set as that. Just because you changed the cable the settings do not auto config from what you set. I'm not sure, but also check your 360 to see if you have to config the audio out. I never did have the HDMI on my 360, so I'm really not sure, I'm just guessing. |

apparently both are common problems after looking online. The 360 is also having HDCP problems over HDMI which is also crap. The XBR9 is HDCP complaint all day. gonna have to (GULP) call MS support and see what they say. b/c it wont even let me stream netflix.

nope bunch of idiots. i managed to fix the xbox sound problem myself though. I knew what the problem was all along i just didnt know how to change it, and the reps are so damn dumb. all they do is read crap suggestions from a computer screen. the display settings were stuck on DVI, despite re4settingf the video settings multitple times, which obviously has no sound and is not HDCP compatible. But i finally figured out how to get it over to HDMI and all is well with that. Still no luck on the OSD though. After reading the Onkyo manual it just says may not be available for HDMI and component IN applications or some such thing. i guess i can live without that. just liked it better on.
