Default 1440p- Sony

I have two question. Will a Sony Blu-Ray pc drive play 1440p. If PS3 can play 1440p with driver up date why can't the pc drive player do the same. Capacity-1080p is 50g and 1440p will be what?

You could put 1440 res video on a blu disc, but you just wouldn't be able to put as much video on there as you could 1080. I'm don't know for sure, but i imagine you would only be able to store less than an hour of video in 1440.

you could put 1440p video on any blank media, BD players will never output the resolution (not in spec), and discs will never be mastered in that resolution.

The only benefit to a 1440p screen would be for computer uses with no valuable association with blu-ray discs.

You could upcale the 1080p output to 1440p, to get the benefits of upscaling.

They're not making any 1440p broadcasts or media any time in the near future

At best you'll be able to use it for your PC, and maybe game consoles
