Default Using AMZ $20 Game Credit for GT5 pre-order

Like some of you, I purchased MW2 and received a $20 credit. It states: "It is our pleasure to let you know that you have earned $20 toward the purchase of any video game product shipped and sold by Amazon.com until 2/28/10."

However, it allows me to pre-order Gran Turismo 5 that doesn't his shelves until 3/31/10. My cart total is $34.99 for the pre-order. Do you think that they will honor this since I can apply the code?

I don't want to be charged full price and be left with an expired Game Credit.

you should be fine using your credit for a preorder.

You think so, even though it clearly states, "...any video game product shipped and sold by Amazon.com until 2/28/10?"

i would think as long as you put the pre order through the check out process, it should be fine, but if i were you, i would email amazon and ask, that way if they tell you can do that and then for whatever reason the site rejects your credit, you have the email to fall back on so that they will have to give it to you

The item will be shipped and sold by Amazon and you are placing your order before 2/28/10. Also it applied the discount to the order already. I do not see the issue.

hes saying because the game wont ship until march 2010, maybe a little confusion in the language of the deal? i first read it like he did, the game had to sold and shipped to him BEFORE 2/28/10

upon second reading, it sounds like you are reading it as it must be an order being sold and shipped by the site amazon.com, not a third party seller, and the order has to be placed before 2/28/10

i see merit in both interpretations, but now that i see both, i tend to lean towards mikes interpretation, amazon is probably more concerned that the sale is made by them and not a third party seller, the promotion was made to help boost THEIR sales, not other websites

Thanks for the detailed clarification. I made the pre-order and will see what happens.
