Default Worst Food That You Have Ever Eaten or Tried To Eat

To piggy back on the Eating Habits Thread...

Whats the worst thing that you have ever eaten or try to eat...

Can't remember what's its called but I tried to eat a boil egg with a baby chicken inside of it..didn't get too far with it, ended up puking right there and then.

Just checked its call Balut...

I was in Saudi Arabia with my pops for one of his medical conferences that was held there.

At the American Compound in the country (Thats where they gave American Workers of all sorts houses) the Neighbor was a Saudi Arabian naturalized american. He invited Both dad and I for dinner. The food was great and tasty. This meat that I was enjoying I thought it was chicken, then I found out that it was a lizard meat which is a delicacy in Saudi Arabia.

Anyone here tried Ostrich meat and Rabbits meat as well?

They are both Delicious. However my favorite is Raw/Iced cold Squid meat.

Oh and I am serious.

I remember as a kid my mom was cooking something in a large pot on the stove. Curious, I opened the lid and found a cow's tongue in boiling water.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cow_tongue

Can't remember if I actually tried it (probably), but I'll always remember that day!

Never tried Ostrich, but I like Rabbit! My Mom use to make it for Easter all the time. It's really good...yum, yum.

My dad was a hunter and loved fishing as well, so I grew up eating rabbit and squirrel, venison, pheasant and just about every type of freshwater local fish.

LOL. Just had this disgusting discussion with my family a while back about this. Apparently I am the only one in the family who find Tongues to be very disgusting. As for my family for some reason this is a family trademark/tradition to enjoy Cow's tongues.

Raw Herring?

It's served everywhere in Holland from cart vendors and it's one of the most popular snacks there!

John

PS ~ I love it, but it's acquired taste. Very oily.

I'm a Sales Rep, and one of my past accounts was a small grocery store that has this HUGE meat counter. They sold all sorts of imo "wierd stuff". Just some of the stuff off the top of my head:

Hog snouts
Hog jowls
Chitlins
Pig Ears (not the dog chew kind)
Tripe
Chicken Feet?
Pig feet

Never Had Pigs in general since I find them disgusting. However, my pop's special plate is Sheep's Feet. and to my opinion anything with feet is disgusting.

Do you take the Pig's feet out before eating the soup?
