Default I want a larger screen, but what to buy?

Back in '94, I bought my first "big screen" TV which replaced a standard 27" tube model. It was a Pioneer "Cinema Wide" 45 incher (not 16:9 but a slightly wider aspect ration than the typical 4:3). In 2001 that was replaced with a 55" Mitsubishi. These were both the big-black-box CRT types and both were considered state-of-the-art when purchased. In '06 I replaced the Mitsubishi with a 61" Samsung DLP which has served very well. I'd like to go to a still larger screen - say 73", but they seem to be a rare species now. Mitsubishi makes a DLP 73" and an 82". I've seen the 55" LED models from Samsung and smaller sizes from Sony and LG, and have been very impressed with the PQ. Does anyone know if larger LED models are in the works? I don't want plama and front projection is out of the question. I'm curious about LaserVue (they've been promosing a 73" model) but they can't seem to ship even their 65" model - and they are very expensive. Anyone know of anything else out there?

From what I've heard, where the technology is right now it wouldn't be cost effective to do a 60+ LED other wise you'd have seen it by now.

We actually just bought a 73'' Diamond since its pretty much the best tv over 65''. We were in the same boat not quite sure since we have everything around the house a 60'' elite, pani plasma's, xbr, samsung lcds, sharp lcds, and a few others, but from what we wanted something over 70'' the Diamond mitsu was the best.

Bottom line don't be shocked if in 1-4 years you see LEDs at 60+ (I doubt 65+) It was just a little over 2-3 years ago that 720p was still the standard.
