Smile Marantz SR8015 or Denon AVR-X6700H

Looking for opinions...

Currently using an old Denon 5800 which was their flagship back in the day, however, it is lacking now. (Atmos, DTSx, etc.)

I use it strictly for movies.

I have enjoyed the sound of my current Denon.

I have read all the reviews on both the Denon and Marantz, very comparable in specs and price. I hear the Marantz has a little warmer sound (good or bad for HT?)

Anyone using either one of these receivers, tell me your thoughts....

I've always had Denon receivers and I think they sound great. I've never owned a Marantz and probably never will because, I don't like their LD panel. It's too small. Here is a video that gives an extinctive insight and informative comparisons of the Denon and Marantz receivers. Also take into consideration that the quality of the speakers, the size of the room and the acoustics effects the sound quality overall.

What did you end up getting? Prices on the 6700 are pretty good rn... I got one for under $1,500... but still lots of deals under 2k everywhere.

Well, damn! Paid 3 grand for mine when I was setting up my theater. Love it, and at those prices it's a no-brainer.
