Hello Friends,
I am trying to purchase the Blu-rays from amazon.co.jp but my Debit Cards keeps getting declined and I have tried using my both HDFC and ICICI Bank Debit Cards. Anyone have experienced the same situation? I couldn't reach the Amazon Chat support via email or by phone whenever I try to reach amazon chat support I am getting the following error message. "We hit a snag with chat." Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, prathaprabhu |

Yes both the cards are enabled for International transactions and have enough limits. I would like to know how do I contact amazon japan customer support via email or toll free number?. I couldn't reach them via chat, actually chat option is not working in any region.

My guess is that it is due to RBI-Mandated Restrictions
Recent conflicts suggest that Indian-issued cards (especially debit cards) are encountering failures on overseas websites due to RBI’s enhanced security mandates (e.g., strict 3D Secure, no card data storage, subscription handling). Unfortunately, many foreign merchants—including Amazon Japan—may not fully support these protocols, leading to declines. Also, it may be recommended that you inform the bank in advance (even through net banking) about the upcoming purchase, to avoid fraud detection glitches—this can make the difference between success and repeated declines. ^True that. I stopped buying from the Arrow and Zavvi stores because my credit card almost inevitably declines the charge. Talking to the CC customer service does nothing because they only give you stock replies (even after you get to an actual human being).
