That’s not a good look for Grand Moff Tarkin.

That's Great News ! But I was hoping Indicator would release Sword of Sherwood with The Devil Ship Pirates, The Scarlet Blade, and Blood River. That would make a Perfect Hammer Adventure Set !! I got Pirates of Blood River from Twilight in October 2017. They charge too much for their titles ! : ( ? Twilight should have released a Hammer Double feature set ..Blood River & Devil Ship ! They released other double features , like the Thunderbirds 2 movies. ????

I still think Indicator might give us Sword of Sherwood and the Devil Ship Pirates and the others in the future.

I've never seen this but based on the Terence Fisher/Peter Cushing/Richard Greene trifecta I'd probably buy it blind, something I rarely do.

Indicator gets alot of UK rights for what Twilight Time releases in the U.S.,so I don't know why this would preclude a release by that label. If anything, it makes an Indicator release slightly more likely.

Yes he was. They were coonskin jockey shorts, and they must have itched terribly.

This will be a good-looking bluray coming from Columbia through Twilight Time. I look forward to it.

Terence Fisher directed Richard Greene in 11 episodes of Greene's hit TV series for ITC The Adventures of Robin Hood (1955-60). Fisher's episodes were in 1956-57. The complete program is out on budget-label DVD sets. The Sword of Sherwood Forest may be taken as the feature film version of that program, with a few cast changes.

I hope Hammer's next attempt at the character A Challenge For Robin Hood (1967) finds its way onto bluray soon. It doesn't have the robust humor of earlier Robin Hoods. Instead it has a satirical streak, which went over my head when I saw it at the kiddie matinee in 1968. I was under 10, and took the film very seriously. That was before I knew what a Hammer Film was.

Errol Flynn/Basil Rathbone duel in the Adventures of Robin Hood is enough justification for me. Robin was fairly good with a sword in that version.

I wouldn't swear on it, but I thought I read somewhere that Sword Of Sherwood Forest and Pirates Of Blood River were being mooted as possible releases in a future Hammer set (maybe not these two in the same set). But it would also be nice if Indicator could get the UK rights for some of Twilight Time's 20th Century Fox titles as well.

I've also never seen this one and I'm tempted since I'm all about the Hammer, and Terence Fisher, Oliver Reed and Peter Cushing on one movie carries its own recommendation. If this October is as light on seasonal titles as it appears it's gonna be, this non-horror with its higher price point might be the one for me...

Finally picked this up and watched it for the first time today. It was highly enjoyable. I'm surprised nobody else talked about it much in this thread over the past year. Cushing, as always, is great. Oliver Reed does appear in a small role, but it's actually a bigger role than I thought it would be. I'm surprised he is not credited in the beginning of the movie. He is in some key scenes and has a good enough chunk of dialogue that he deserved to be credited.

I don't want to say too much about the movie because I don't want to spoil anything. I will, however, say that it is loaded with surprises. If you're a fan of Hammer films, you will not be disappointed with this one.

Can't believe this has been out almost a year now. My money for movies is always pretty tight, so I'm usually busy staying caught up on getting things I know I like and rarely making blind buys unless the price is really good. After your enthusiastic post, I happened to look it up at TT and noticed it's currently on sale for a super nice $14.95! So I bought a copy instantly. Can't wait to check it out.

You know, I was going to try and wait for Indicator, as I do own their first three Hammer sets (and do plan to buy the fourth one), but I couldn't help myself. I saw the TT sale and really wanted to see it, so acted accordingly. I might have to double dip later should Sword of Sherwood Forest appear in Indicator's fifth Hammer set.

It's a good film, and the Twilight Time blu-ray sports an excellent transfer. Once you've
seen it you have no complaints, I'm sure.
