Default Discovery: Sunrise Earth

From the makers of Planet Earth, Sunrise Earth is coming to Blu Ray. Filmed Sunrises from 12 different locations. That is great but watching Sunrises for xxx amount of hours sounds pretty boring.

They could have done a better project. Worth the purchase?

I think it's pretty cool. The look, the sound. It's very relaxing when you're trying to fall asleep at night or something. But just a warning, if you start watching it for a few minutes, you won't be able to turn it off til it's done. Veryyy addicting

It's cool...for 5 minutes. I'd rather take my own pics of sunrise.

At first I thought it would be boring, but it grows on you. It's beautiful, it's relaxing, and on a 46" LCD it's like being there. Something I enjoy.

I can see why some would think this show boring.....

But like Planet Earth, seeing nature in it's natural state especially how phenominal it looks in HD, will hopefully lead to young people treating the
environment and animals better than our generation and past generations...

I personally love this show and think the Blu ray will rule....You just have
to watch it at the right time..

I love watching Planet Earth, it has enough "action" for me to get interested throughout an episode or even a whole disc. OTOH, Sunrise that they show on Discovery is almost static.

Sunrise Earth would be great background fillers, but as for really watching it... I drive into the sunrise everyday so nothing beats that!

I think it looks beautiful in HD. Of course it will not be as entertaining as say LOST season 3 on blu-ray. Sunrise Earth is great for putting your feet up to relax and just have some down time and it is great to play in the background.

It's only boring to someone who has no appreciation for nature's eye candy, has never snapped a sunrise (or sunset) with their camera, or someone who isn't romantic enough to envision such settings with their lover.

I've seen it in HD on my Sony 1080i LCD. It is simply awesome visually speaking. I love the fact that there is no narration/dialog, just natural sound in 5.1. That makes it seem like you are there even more so. There have only been a few locations that didn't impress me. I look forward to adding it to the blu-ray collection.

i agree with both sides of this argument. Watching these in 1080p will definitely be visually impressive. But I personally only use titles like this to show off. I got HD landscapes the Worlds most beautiful places and it is beautiful. Definitely worth say 15 bucks to have on in the background for a party

You can't compare Sunrise Earth and Planet Earth - PE has narration and it is edited to just show you things that are happening. Sunrise Earth, the cameraman puts his/her HD camera on a tripod, sets it to record then goes off for a coffee

That said, SE is quite therapeutic, especially if you have a headache/hangover.
