Default Velodyne ImpactMini Powered Subwoofer

hey all, was wondering if anyone had this sub that could comment on them? i just saw they are on amazon for $189 so i was thinking about buy 2 and splitting them with a Y cable. one for each corner of my front. basically they would go on the outside of each of my towers? any thoughts or opinions? thanks

I don't know about these subs. Why don't you buy one really good sub for around 400. You will get a better frequency response at the low end that will really get your room shaking. You can add another at a later time.

Those little subs are decent for satellite speaker setups, but they don't get very low in the frequency range so I wouldn't use them for home theater. HERE's a much better sub. Its pricier but definitely worth it. Another good option would be THIS sub. Of course your money would probably be better spent on one really good sub that can get down to a lower frequency and then add a second budget sub down the road to even out the response in the room.

+1, this is the best bang for your buck sub out there right now. Can't beat the performance for $350, it's very musical and kicks ass with HT

ok, wow im shocked. i would figure 2 small 300 wt powered subs up front in each corner would be kick ass?

i already have a larger 1000 wt powered sub in my sig and it rocks the room, but with my new setup developing i was considering 2 smaller subs one in each corner to fill the room?

how are the axiom subs? i was considering buying a speaker setup from them with out any sub, but them thought if i had all axiom why not there sub?

well i ordered 2 already cause i didnt get no response here last night. i guess i can always return them. thought it would be good to have 2 smaller subs at the front both going. so you dont think i will get the low range for HT from these subs?

It will help to provide more even bass response in the room or fill in any bass voids that exist, but 2 subs will not necessarily improve the output that your one sub is already providing. You can possibly get a second, different sub and calibrate it to play along with the other, bigger sub. But this will take some adjustments on your part to get it to work right. With any sub(s), location is very important. 2 subs up front is not ideal, so you might be better suited to have one sub up front and the second in the back on the opposite side of the room or 2 subs in the middle of the room, one on the right and one on the left. It takes some time to find proper placement for one or two subs to get the proper performance. The sub crawl is another technique you could use. Check out these links from our Big Daddy on sub placement for one and two subs and the subwoofer crawl, it should help. Good luck!
