Post Ever call off work to play your system?

Please take it was a couple years ago, I worked midnight shift and I spent the moring hours into the late afternoon playing video games with my best friend and when i went home i said to heck with it and called off for that night.. I'll tell ya tho it was well worth it. Dont get to spend times like that with friends anymore.

I never have done this to play...but have done this to buy a system on release date. Camped out overnight...and for one system multiple nights, thank you PS3.

Camped out all night for the PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360, PS3 and the Wii.

One thing to note, I found it kind of funny that for when I camped out for the PS3 almost everyone had a PSP and was using it. When I camped out for the Wii almost everyone had a DS and was using that. I had a DS for a while before this date and never realized how much fun it was when you were able to hook up locally with a bunch of people in line and play. Between everyone that was there, there was an endless amount of games and I didn't have to own one of them to play. I had a blast! But then when I got home after that I haven't touched my DS since and sold it.

I've skipped my last hour of school every day for 6 months to play PS3.

But I won't be able to this year since I'm taking college classes.

I know when Madden and GTA 4 come out, those are designated sick or vacation days. Haven't figured out which one to use just yet.

Cool

I think the last time I skipped work for a game was Resident Evil 2 on Playstation. but I work a lot of night shifts and I've taken the odd night off to watch eight hours of movies. Usually pick the 90-120 MIN titles so I can squeeze four in, then sit back and watch the sun rise.

if a company fires you for saying online you skipped work for playing video games i would seriously question the bosses of that company why do they have enough free time to be checking online if someone posted a reason for skipping work

I was sort of half joking half serious. I have worked from home and have turned on my PS3, but I get my work done so its no big deal. I was just surprised to see a thread were a person could easily incriminate themselves...

I hear that!
It's always been like that for me, for almost 10 years now. I buy the cool tv/game system/games/video, then I have to work my butt off to afford it or pay it back and have no (or little) time to play them.

Man, if I got that obsessive about a game... I'd go see a shrink. I love games but they don't control me - I control them, damn it! It's good to be the king...
